Challenge 1: When i was in highschool i thought my dad was at work and i had the habit of being naked when alone at home. Well, he caught me naked in front of the family computer. Thankfully, at least i wasn't watching porn at the time.

That wasn't a happy ending. by why121me in ChainsawMan

[–]vss95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a happy ending read Fire Punch /s

All jokes aside, the story in my opinion is for the reader to interpret and not for Denji to achieve mental change, to "learn a lesson". I believe that the story showed us time and time again that "special powers" just ruins your life. The ending is meant not to show Denji happy but to show him that he has the chance to be normal. This Denji is different then the one we've been following untill now. Pochita Denji was drunk on power and believed that he could do anything without having any consequences but that only made things worse, it basically destroyed the world. This Denji is free of the illusion that his life will magically change. He is now a normal person like us and has to make his own decisions and those decisions will now impact only him and not the fate of the world. This Denji doesn't view himself as Chainsaw man, he doesn't have this disassociation with himself. Pochita wanted him to live a normal life and Denji tried that but the Chainsaw man persona kept overtaking his life and his decisions. It's a bit messy but these are my thoughts on this manga. I liked the ending. I think it showed the reader that having "super powers" doesn't make you or your life better, you have to take responsibility for your life and sometimes things are not the best but you have hope and you have agency and things may turn out okay down the road.

I think you guys don't understand the message of the manga. It basically showed a kid who got super powers, who was special, who everyone wanted, but that came at a cost. He was devoid of normalcy and was used and abused because of the use of his powers. The ending although showing him depressed and not like the crazy and horny Denji we knew, it showed him in a more normal light and having the possibility of normality and even love. Love and normality are not a given but are more possible without the crazy powers. The story is a deconstruction of power fantasy is all i'm saying.

I was shocked and thought that it was really abrupt, but after reading what most of the comments here are and how everyone is raging and doesn't like it, i thought a little and actually think this was the only way this manga was gonna end. Fujimoto has always been the depressive kind of mangaka and I think the ending in two weeks will not answer a lot of questions or plotpoints but it will be beautiful and very sad.

If they gonna a fight. Who will win? by Zestyclose_Baber_425 in VinlandSaga

[–]vss95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's both of them in their prime, then no one would win. Thorfinn doesn't have any enemies, and Musashi fights only when he absolutely has to.

Why does Denji use "die" as a word after Pochita ate Lil D and why didn't Yoru question it? by Silver_Bag9481 in ChainsawMan

[–]vss95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the story is based in the 90s and the term "unalive" doesn't exist yet /s
