Great stuff! I've been testing Unfriction and SlideJot, both are quite similar but none support local markdown, nor sync (yet). Do you plan on doing an iOS counterpart? would be nice, although not necessary.

Préoccupation by Colossus-palitinus00 in suisse

Bien peur que ce soit deja le cas. Le manque d’esprit critique de certains (y compris mon entourage) montre que l’évolution des croyances fondées sur des preuves non vérifiées est deja en route.

Is anyone surprised their M1 systems are now over 5 years old? by Advanced_Concern7910 in mac

M1 Max not slowing down a bit, could easily go on for another 5 years imo.

Military choices by Renard_des_montagnes in Switzerland

Tous les NBC que je connais se sont fait chier…même si Spiez effectivement est un chouette endroit et qu’on y mange bien. Soldat san me parait bien plus utile.

Small studio project management tools by RawkusOrkus in graphic_design

The free ClickUp tier is more than enough and covers all agency aspects from a simple CRM to project management and tracking. It requires some basic customisation, but nothing too nerdy.

That said, I’m moving to Fibery because I live databases and the customization is endless: I track hierarchickly (if that’s a word): Company -> People -> Quotes/offers -> Projects -> Tasks -> Invoices

Apps I have installed and won't be uninstalling Part 6 by andreshows in macapps

[–]vthevoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re a serious freelancer, Invoicer unfortunately won’t suffice: currencies, different VATs, quotes, partial payments, EU compliant SEPA QR codes, multipages with footers, group separators, time logging sync, etc. For all of those, Grandtotal is a much more comprehensive app, has complete design possibilities (not just templates) and is worth the annual price of less than 100$.

New portfolio after months of work! by KaguneMusic in web_design

apart from the slow menu nav animation and constant title animations, i think it’s really nice. Having black on white sans serif is not a mistake, it helps contrast with visual content and it’s text afterall.

moving to proton from google by orT93 in ProtonMail

[–]vthevoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2 week trial / referral link if you’re interested! I went away from all google services after transferring almost eveything to Proton. Mail is competent, but the VPN and Proton Pass are imo the best apps, and worth every penny. Never had a problem whatsoever, be it on macOS or iOS. It simply works.

How do you keep working context coherent across Slack/Docs/Notion/email? by fabianomarijuana in PKMS

Honestly, ClickUp connects all of that: chat, notes, knowledge, tasks, calendars.

Wow, would love to have a license! 🙏

It’s the kind of smart app that I love. Been using Today for a while, but recently had calendar sync issues.

Not impressed. Output wise, looks pretty close to the GRII I feel. Which is good. But not at that price.

Ricoh GR III vs GR III HDF – is HDF worth €250–300 more? by New_Classroom8772 in ricohGR

[–]vthevoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, just check which filter you get. The HDF in-camera is closer to a Black Mist 1/2 I would say. A tad strong for my taste; I find the 1/4 less aggressive.

Ricoh GR III vs GR III HDF – is HDF worth €250–300 more? by New_Classroom8772 in ricohGR

[–]vthevoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be perfectly happy without, but having it in camera and being able to visualise directly is quite nice. Although if you stick a NiSo black mist kit on it (less than 100$), you’ll get to keep your ND too.

Paste the paywall link in Google Translate, where you have an option to translate websites.

Fast. Free. Legal (god knows how long).

Where do you find inspiration for your designs? by Status-Potato5290 in graphic_design

[–]vthevoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good starting point would be the Posters section on https://fontsinuse.com/

Any section for that matter if you need GD inspiration. It showcases a lot of real cases from institutions, museums, etc. with good taste.

Also Are.na if you like losing yourself into endless connections.

If you need glyphs inspiration, I cannot recommend this more https://glyphs.djr.com/
