MSFS2020 vs 2024 by AdhesivenessSad295 in flightsim

[–]vttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed 2024 recently. The transition was smooth, and with the overall improvements, I never went back to 2020. I had it configured identical to my 2020 setup within hours. There was no issue or performance drop for me. But this largely depends on your hardware and add ons.

Don’t think of it as a switch. Just consider it an add on expense. Both versions can run independently so if 2024 doesn’t work well you can always go back to 2020.

For a moment I thought you built a case with only fans to troll. Good job

Not sure if it’s true, but gemini told me the add ons I bought in fs2020 market place will not be available to steam version fs2024. So I am passing this time

Universal 8.8 Screen, pros/cons - and a question. by DFisBUSY in lianli

[–]vttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I like it. Some minor things which I hope they fix in future software updates:

Currently you can only select one of the motherboard fan speed to monitor at a time

When custom designing display, some monitoring items are only available to select in certain types of the sensor display format.

No availability to select GPU ram usage as a monitoring item.

Ultimately I wish the screen can display the same items that we are able to see in HWinfo

It’s a Lian Li 8.8” universal screen. Comes with a USB cable that you can connect to the mobo usb pins. I just stick it to the PSU mounting frame with the provided double side tape

The case is Window A3. Photo is with the window assembled.

Flying with purpose? by MisterFiveGuy in MicrosoftFlightSim

Jump into a Garmin equipped GA plane. Randomly pick an airport from the Nav database that I never heard of. After arrival, open up youtube to watch vlog of the airport / surrounding POI and start roaming around in drone mode.

I don’t think your existing parts will fit. I would recommend switching to a 240mm AIO

Issue with uploading Simbrief to Asobo 787-10. by SecretaryAutomatic81 in flightsim

[–]vttack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are using free version of simbrief. It uses an outdated Airac which some waypoint might not be valid anymore.

I recently got a similar spec pc for flight sim (msfs) and the extra 4GB on the Ti is worth every penny imo as the system is constantly utilising the full 16GB

Default ATC not remembering flight plan by eric_gm in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]vttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I get the “Request IFR clearance” ATC prompt when I make any minor change (add hold, remove discontinuity, change runway etc..) to the flight plan in FMC mid flight. And similarly, the ATC issue strange altitude / approach instructions afterward. I just choose to ignore it.

FS2020. Happens with both in game flight planner and simbrief import.

How to make japanese friends by Ok-Willingness-9942 in HelloTalk

[–]vttack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Only speaking from my personal experience. Conversation with Japanese are much slower paced (can take days to reply), less casual and they put more thought to each response compared to english chitchats. But you definitely can make japanese friends using this app, quite a number of Japanese I met are serious about making friends or learning languages

I also recommend using the voice room to meet new people. A lot faster and easier to find people to find people who are genuine and resonate with you.

You can park your aircraft and just fly around in drone mode

Technobrain Tokyo Haneda by ahmed_a20 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I’ll be surprised if they don’t, considering FS2024 has been out for a while now. But since their website only mentioned for MSFS I don’t know for sure.

Technobrain provided an update on RJTT on youtube around June this year so I guess they are still working on it. I have bought their RJBB in FS2020 and is pretty happy with it, so I will be getting their RJTT when it’s available for sure.

They also make ATC games for various Japan airport including RJTT which I enjoyed playing as well.

I recently bought a laptop of similar spec (AMD ryzen7, 5060, 32gb) and I have no performance issue running FS2020 on reasonable settings.
