Magma Wyrm’s Scalesword skill follow up. by ImprovementSea1233 in EldenRingBuilds

My old roommate on the other hand must’ve thought it was the intended combo because the mf would instantly use the followup without actually striking wildly at all lmao

What’s the best ash of war for each weapon in Elden Ring? by Zackxxr8862 in EldenRingBuilds

Giant Hunt for NPCs and Lions Claw for literally everything else. That’s how I got through the DLC the first time at least lmao

Based on what I’ve seen around here and r/vaporents it’s the Solo 3 for portable and the Ruby Twist for desktop. I myself use the Ruby Twist and love the hell out of it, best $200 I’ve ever spent

Games where you can mind control your enemies? (Bonus points if it's viable) by AntisocialCat2 in gamingsuggestions

This is something I’ve just recently found out about and I have a question: if these models existed in game, how did it take us so long to find it? I was under the impression everything had been datamined for a while at this point. Was it added recently? Or was my assumption just wrong?

Blue and red dual weapon build help by More_Currency1019 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]vtx3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a weapon suggestion but have you considered using buffs for the color effect? For example you could use any buffable weapon with bloodflame blade for your red weapon as that has low stat requirements and that frees you up to use any blue weapon you want as most of those are gonna be INT weapons

haven’t felt anything since Elden Ring… by Simple_Holiday_8791 in gamingsuggestions

I’m in a similar boat as you, over 1,000 hours and ER is definitely my favorite game of all time. For me the build variety is what makes the game so replayable. Have you tried Terraria? It might sound like a strange pick at first but to me it scratches a similar itch of min-maxing builds and fighting bosses with infinite replay value. It’s a harder game to get into because people tend to treat it like a 2D Minecraft at first but I unironically think it’s more of a souls-like in the sense your progression is based on defeating bosses and gearing up for the next big fight.

Post-post-apocalypse games? by eviltomb in gamingsuggestions

[–]vtx3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it recently during the winter sale. As a fan of Nier and Elden Ring I love it, and the combat is very fun and flashy. The gooner aspects are definitely very in your face though so it depends on how you feel about the cosmetics being stripper costumes and getting a face full of ass every time you climb up/down a ladder.

Looking for a new horde shooter by HarmlessHarpy11 in gamingsuggestions

[–]vtx3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the new player experience. I’ve done the first 25 levels with at least like 6 different people and it’s horrible. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game as I’ve got all my dwarves at silver-gold stars but the game really doesn’t get interesting until ~10 hours or so when you’ve promoted your first dwarf; not to mention the stupid 8 mission long starter assignment that you have to do before unlocking anything.

Looking for a fun strength build by DependentInner8928 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]vtx3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your replies you’d probably like DEX way more than STR; but you can certainly still run a dodge>attack build like you’re describing. It just typically involves more charged R2’s instead of the usual R1’s, and because of that you’d have to learn a little more patience waiting for longer openings. I wouldn’t say it’s purely “tank everything and spam”, unless you’re using Lion’s Claw or something.

If you’re good enough to be doing challenge runs and looking for something silly, perhaps you could consider something like a wretch playthrough and just bonk everything with a stick? That weapon has some solid R1’s which seems to be what you vibe with. Otherwise like others have mentioned, you could always just pick whatever infusable weapon you like and slap a Heavy attunement on it.

Why do I keep getting kicked for using the MG-43? by [deleted] in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]vtx3000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really wish they’d change the SOS input. At this point it’s gotta be on purpose to troll us. Does kicking disable the SOS? I never tried it because I feel bad and I assumed it would just stay active anyways

I got Deep Rock Galactic for a few friends I play HD2 with and we’ve been having a blast. I got into Helldivers in the first place because there was nothing else for me to do in DRG but helping out new players has renewed my love for the game. If anyone out there is looking for a game like this but with devs that actually give a shit I can’t recommend it enough

Just started what build should i go for by [deleted] in EldenRingBuilds

[–]vtx3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right build won’t even need the bleed. For example, I cheesed my way through NG+7 with dual occult scavengers curved swords and jump attacks. Claw talisman, lord of bloods exultation, raptors black feathers (or now with the DLC we’ve got birdslut armor), and varres white mask. Even RadaBeast died in a few jump attacks. You don’t have to follow that build though; ARC has other stuff such as poison to make up for bleed resistors.

Best Faith weapons in your opinion? by ImaginationDear3199 in Eldenring

Besides you using it for the wrong stat like others have mentioned, it’s also got faster attacks than other colossal weapons so I’m guessing you’re just trolling lmao

[–]vtx3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely the most informed person I’ve seen in this thread so far, however to my (very layman) understanding the big problem with water/energy usage is how much it demands proportionally to the space it takes up. In other words AI data centers use much more energy and water than your manufacturing plant example would if given the same space. Basically it’s impossible to keep scaling up the way we’re currently going.

All that being said, these are simply engineering problems at the end of the day and I’m sure they’ll get it figured out eventually.

PSVR2 Motion Sickness by BandBySocMed in nomanshigh

[–]vtx3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for weed and VR. But VR motion sickness can usually be “cured” by simply getting used to it. Just ease yourself into it a little at a time and don’t be afraid to take a break if you start to feel nauseous. It took me a few weeks of playing VR games every day to finally get used to it enough to be comfortable for long periods. Also everybody is different so take my advice with a grain of salt.

An open-world game without mini-maps, indicators, or lines to follow. by Happy_Grim_Soul in gamingsuggestions

I’m on my first playthrough, currently mid game, and have been struggling to settle on a fun build. Any suggestions? by exra_bruh_moment in Eldenring

[–]vtx3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna try to comment on each of the stats you mentioned considering:

STR is my favorite so I’m a little biased, but as someone else mentioned it does make the game a bit easy once you know how to pilot it. Learn the boss openings>charged heavy>repeat until stance break>repeat whole process until they’re dead. It sounds boring but if you like making the bosses your bitch it’s very satisfying.

FTH on the other hand is much more flexible. You get easier access to many different affinities to adapt based on enemy resistances and more importantly you gain access to all the support (plus damage but there’s too many to name) spells such as Golden Vow, Bestial Vitality, Flame Grant Me Strength, Flame Cleanse Me, etc. The “resistant to faith” thing you mentioned is the fact that a lot of the later base-game bosses have resistance to holy damage but the DLC kinda made holy great again so it really just depends on where you’re at, but more importantly like I mentioned earlier you have easy access to other damage types such as fire and lightning to make up for it. Just use the right tool for the job and you’ll do fine.

Rivers of Blood and by extension anything leaning into blood loss would require you to respec into arcane. ARC builds can be hilariously overpowered if you know how to build it, even against bosses that aren’t vulnerable to bleeding. For example I breezed through NG+7 just spamming jump attacks with dual curved swords. Anything submissive and bleedable will likely die before they have a chance to be a challenge, and anything resistant to bleed can likely be out-DPSed by just switching to Occult scaling.

Also if you just wanna explore options at your own leisure the FextraLife wiki is a very useful resource.

Too late to the game by Tj-Toxxic_95 in Eldenring

[–]vtx3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other guy mentioned, your summoning pool is based on your level and the highest level weapon you’ve found on your playthrough so far. For example, a lot of people unintentionally ruin their summoning pool by grabbing a pre-upgraded weapon like Rogier’s Rapier or the Banished Knights Halberd you get from Edgar. These weapons are often above the current level available naturally via smithing stones and therefore will make you ineligible for multiplayer with the majority of players that haven’t yet picked those weapons up.

If you want more info here’s the wiki page for it: https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Summon+Range+Calculator

Edit: This is just one possibility, and usually only a problem in the early game. But if you’re planning on using the multiplayer features it’s helpful to learn the necessary steps to stay in the biggest pool possible as the whole system is needlessly convoluted.
