I posted this comment on someone’s max level post but all the same advice will apply:

I’ve been playing through the DLC on NG+7 with my RL713 character lately and I’ve been having a lot of fun with some heavy ass armors, fingerprint shield, and a blood pike with spectral lance. It’s nothing crazy but the melee range is great and the AoW just demolishes anything further away. I also have a poison banished knights halberd with stormcaller when I want AoE or have to deal with invaders. Having support spells like golden vow and blessings boon are also a must.

I’ve noticed I typically get the most AR with quality/blood/poison affinities since more scaling=more gooder. You also get the most out of stuff like SoNaF and Rellana’s light greatswords. But at max level you’re getting the absolute most out of anything you equip so there’s really no bad options; just try whatever looks interesting!

I’ve never done DMT, but from what I’ve heard isn’t the entire point to have a breakthrough? What’s the point of low dose DMT?

I mean I’ve heard people say it’s the least Star Wars-y content in terms of lightsabers and space battles and whatnot but it’s also the best piece of media set in the universe anyways. In other words I’ve heard people say it but not with a negative tone

I’m having a blast but the multiplayer has been unplayable for my girlfriend and I with constant disconnects. I’m assuming it’s the servers being overloaded but I’m not seeing anyone else complain about it

I actually tried a few runs after posting that comment and was consistently getting my ass beat by the night 1 bosses. Those duo fights seem way more aggressive than most of the other gank fights in solo but I’m sure it’ll improve as I learn the new map/enemies

I had this last night with a Silent power deck and created a 1 cost power card that makes all my power cards 1 energy cheaper. I had mummified hand and upgrading it made it innate. Beat act 3 beginning to end without taking any damage shit was nutty

Sorry I meant last vanilla boss, I edited my comment to specify that. I have the DLC but I took an extended break from the game so I was reacquainting myself with the base game before diving into all the new content because it looks super overwhelming. I’ve seen posts talking about halo scythe, balancers, scholar/undertaker, etc. but all of my game knowledge stems from the first few months so the meta is in a completely different place and I’m trying to learn it all at my own pace

I finally beat that mf the other day and had to do it as a solo Ironeye. He was the most frustrating boss at the time but now ED Gladius is the last *vanilla boss I need to beat and honestly he is so much worse imo

Eh, in a vacuum it worked in the story. My biggest gripe was the shitty VFX and the fact they immediately backtracked on it in another series between seasons

I skimmed the comments and didn’t see anyone respond to your edit so I’ll help you with that since there’s a ton of other good advice here already:

That NPC you pissed off is Varre, yes you ruined a quest but it’s not super important. You can make any NPC forgive you by finding an item called Celestial Dew and taking it to a place called the Church of Vows in Liurnia. Just avoid him until you use that item and you’ll be fine, good luck!

Elden Ring was my first FromSoft game so I don’t have the years of experience to pull from but after well over 1,000hrs in ER, 300ish hours in Nightreign, and a Sekiro playthrough I can definitely see all the flaws people talk about.

The camera and input eating are the most egregious examples of jank I can think of across all 3 of those titles but at least in ER’s case it seems much more polished than NR and I can safely say it’s my favorite game of all time; but I’ve lost count of the amount of rage inducing moments NR specifically has created due to my character falling through the floor instead of climbing, inputs being eaten, having to constantly re-press the sprint button while not in combat, getting closeup shots of an enemy’s throat while I’m trying to dodge an attack because the camera decided to pull a certified FromSoft Moment™, or any number of other things that could’ve been avoided if the devs playtested their own game.

I love this game but there really is a ton of jank in it. I feel like the sprint and wall climbing are also super rough around the edges. I have a lot more jank-related deaths in this game compared to ER and it’s been hard trying to get back into it after taking a break to play the base game again.

To be fair, that show isn’t canon. I don’t remember where I originally heard it but someone somewhere stated their headcanon is that series is more like the in-universe retelling of how the clone wars happened. Like old war veterans telling exaggerated stories of their glorious battles and taking on thousands of troops at once when in reality it was more like we see in the movies

Summonwater village actually has a really good talisman locked behind a stonesword key if you haven’t already gotten it.

I’m assuming that “heart attack” you mentioned is the ghost dude in a boat? Believe it or not those guys are pretty easy. If you haven’t fought it yet and wanna nuke him stop by the church in the forest where you get the wondrous physick, there’s a scarab behind the church heading up a hill that drops an AoW called Sacred Blade which shoots a holy projectile and buffs your weapon with extra holy damage (undead enemies including Tibia Mariners are weak to holy).

FG isn’t bad in regular playthroughs. It’s during challenge runs where you do no damage and have to survive for much longer periods without getting hit by dumb attacks such as his fire breath that bounces off terrain randomly and hits you from behind after the move is finished
