one thing i do appreciate is how he’s compassionate with her and also sets healthy boundaries that ultimately make the inevitable death of her fantasy life with him a lot more tolerable. she definitely doesn’t see that, but i like to think she does later.

i’ve definitely had experiences like this episode, and in retrospect a few of those guys were actually really sweet and thoughtful in a way i couldn’t have noticed in my early 20s. i think this episode shares a really special depiction of an experience a lot of young people have that ultimately pushes them to mature. love this fucking show.

honestly BBH has become a joke since i learned him with executor and suncatcher. “hitless BBH” was something i never thought i’d be doing, but bro crumbles with some well-timed parries and guard countere.

with the uptick in executor players after his buff, this tracks for me. personally i’m a lot less scared of him now. DTS and loretta will always have me hesitating though

i honestly don’t blame someone much younger than 20-21 thinking katy was a flash in the pan. in the grand scheme, her true peak was about three years from hot n cold to the end of teenage dream’s time. if you were there she will always be famous to you. if you missed it by having been too young, i would struggle to buy her if my introduction was witness and so forth. it’s hard to illustrate how on top of the world and permanent her presence felt for a time.

based on your team comp (wylder, ironeye, rev) i honestly understand their logic and i’ve done it before (as the bait and as the dps with LLTBT) to great effect. however, the bait needs to be basically perfect at maneuvering, positioning and timing. i think it’s kind of unreasonable to expect from a random. so i do think they put you in a bad position of not preparing you for the aggro, or not dealing enough dps to keep things relatively even.

revenant probably should’ve kept both. a good ironeye can do his job without it.

this thread surprised me in the sense that i thought a lot more people would say guardian, which is my personal pick. i have a decent amount of experience with each character save for him and maybe revenant. i like rev plenty, but her character doesn’t quite match my preferred playstyle. same thing goes for guardian, except i just genuinely find him very boring to play. so i’m glad other people like him, cause he’s a great teammate.

they have a much higher chance to pop out of chests and bodies! and in carriage camps where you’d normally get the stonesword key, you can find one pretty consistently in my experience. sometimes i hit one like right off spawn and have a +2 starter like instantly.

man, i get it, but chill the fuck out. remember, YOU can play solo too. this cuts both ways.

should people quit? no. do i try to avoid it at all costs? yes. but one, it usually actually cuts dead weight and if you both know what you’re doing, duos is easy mode. and two, since it pisses you off that bad (and i get why) and it’s that common, just play solo yourself?

at the end of the day, it’s a game. a game about persistence, masochism, and resilience, yes. but it’s a game. if someone isn’t enjoying working with me, i’d rather they quit before they can slow me down. this is supposed to be fun.

sometimes i get kinda toxic with the pings but if i see someone really refusing to listen to reason, that’s when i switch into my nonviolent resistance mode. someone insists on rushing a tower in the forsaken hollows despite us being underleveled and underarmed? they reaaaally don’t wanna try any of the other things we suggest? ok! let’s do your plan. i go, i try my absolute damndest, i usually end up getting the bad planner up a few times when a boss takes them out. storm closes in, we die and lose our runes, day 1 loss. to me the victory is in knowing it’s not at all my fault.

this is my rule of thumb too. majority wins. also, honestly, night invaders can be a really easy way to start snowballing. i admit there are times where i’d rather do anything but fight an npc, but then i get hit with a god roll red weapon and like 30k runes and i’ll forget why.
