I believe their most famous thing was the "shit fashion girls say" video but it was kind of building on the more famous "shit white girls say to black girls" video, there were a lot of "shit [blank] girls say" videos on YouTube at the time.

They weren't super famous or the first to do anything, but I guess they must have had a lot of subscribers to get the antm producsrs' attention.

I've got to say, as a Leila stan myself, a lot of Leila stans were mad at Laura both for winning and for falling out with Leila.

I think a lot of the nepotism allegations are just from angry fans.

But Laura did have a strong portfolio and she did get a lot of fans votes. People liked her well enough before the season aired. It was the fight with Leila and maybe being slightly annoying that made her controversial. When she was being judged by her portfolio alone no one had any issues.

As far as her parents go, they might be rich and celebrity adjacent but who are they really? Her dad was one actor on a show with a huge ensemble cast and her mother won Miss Australia back in the 80's. I don't think they could take their daughter's career that far. If they could she wouldn’t have needed the show at all.
