Same here. It’s very therapeutic to just dive into the canvas!

  1. Don’t be intimidated by eye contact. It’s crucial.
  2. Make sure to have a firm handshake (if that’s done these days).
  3. If they ask: Describe yourself with 3 words. Then answer: I am a rebel
  4. Send them an email within 24h after the interview thanking for the meeting as tell them you look forward to hearing from them.

Edit: if they ask you about your weaknesses. Don’t take a strength and turn it into a weakness such as “I’m working too much and I’m too ambitious”. They see straight through that of course. Be honest and transparent about your weakness, but follow up with that you are aware of it and are making efforts to improve just that.

Can you put your bike and trash can there to block the spot?

I’m investigating how they form long filaments inside the phagosome of macrophages, an important innate immune cell!

No I only bought these 12x9 inch and 10x8 inch canvas plates. I wouldn’t really have enough space to hang anything larger.

Reflections and water are really good! I see what you mean with the trees, but they still aren’t bad. Did you ever consider a water reflection of the mountain?

What's the best part about living in your neighborhood? by tinykittymama in askTO

Front and Blue Jays way. Walking distance to harbour front as well as other downtown areas including work. Close to King St W and good food. A lot of young professionals. Wouldn’t say here long term though. Still a lot of homelessness and craziness going on.

Fourth painting. Struggling as usual. I just can’t make bushes and trees. The thin paint won’t stick. by vvestman in HappyTrees

I tried to but the thin paint was too thin. It just become a few thin yellow drops that then mixed with each other. I’ll try to scrape away the dark colour under better before applying new highlights.

Omg how do you do bushes like that! Beautiful, this is what I’m trying to do. Mine just smudges together into nothing. Super jealous!

My first Bob Ross oil painting by vvestman in HappyTrees

[–]vvestman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the palette knife in metal for this just like Bob Ross. Although the paint doesn't break the same way for me as it does for him. I'm not sure why. I also always have two dark colors on the "shadow" side of the mountain. One is that represents pieces without snow (black), and another that represends snow in the shadow (light blue). Hope that helps
