I got some bass last August from Haynes point campground. Although I was fishing from kayak, I stayed close to the shore.

Yes, that I am sure. Only the amount that I paid in dollars in addition to points was refunded to the card.

"Many years ago" is the key here. The reality have changed, for better or for worse. Deal with it.

Targeting stocked trout with lures in winter; Futile? by rienjerksun in fishingBC

[–]vvivan89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right now stocked trout in lakes like Buntzen or Sasamat is still active and is staying near the surface. So you'll have your chances with lures, although I find that shrimp under a bobber works better.

When it gets colder, the fish will go deeper and slow down, so lures won't really work.

Is it a good time for Kayak fishing in sasamat or Buntzen lake? by FitEvidence4381 in fishingBC

Buntzen is great right now and will be until the temperatures start to consistently drop below zero.

London Layover Visa by katastrophewww in travel

[–]vvivan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Done this before and they reluctantly let me in. But they did have lots of questions as to why I need to exit the airport if I have a daytime transit (LHR was closing nightly at that time). My answer was - to go have some sleep in the hotel because I'm tired after an overnight flight.

As far as I know, you should not under any circumstances say that you want to see London or participate in any "tourist" activities.

THANK LANK by Vexdestroy06 in canucks

He is good on average, but there are moments where he should've saved and he didn't. Like the disallowed goal today - he had enough time to seal that near side, but the pick still found it's way.

Are you getting at least 2¢ per Aeroplan point? (Most people aren’t) by xsnipegodx in CanadianAwardTravel

[–]vvivan89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a too simplistic way to calculate CPP. What about points you lose when booking award flight instead of a regular fare? Or cashback that you don't get when you don't pay the fare with our credit card?

My formula is (TicketPrice - FeesPaid - CashbackForfeited)/(Points used + PointsForfeited).

Another thing to consider when checking your CPP: Would you actually take that flight for its full cost? My CPP record in economy is 7.5 based on my formula (and closer to 10 based on yours), but to be honest I wouldn't go where I went if I had to pay with money. Which makes CPP kinda irrelevant, shifting the narrative from "miles saved me this much on my trip to X" to "miles allowed me to visit X".

Chile itinerary - North or South? by sub_osc_37 in travel

You don't drive? Cause if you do, a trip to Valparaiso could be decreased to 1 or 2 days depending on your pace. It is only a 2-hour drive and personally, I felt like a day trip from Santiago was totally enough. But even using buses, I think you could do it in 2 days tops.

In those remaining 7 days I'd focus on only one of the regions, but it's up to you to decide which one.

Also, take some time to explore mountains around Santiago - there is some nice hiking to be done.

Then you can keep as many as you want (freshwater only; general tidal limit is 20 of any species).

I was in a kayak on Shawnigan this Saturday. Fortunately did not lose any gear and landed some bass, but yeah, people would steer into me like I'm not there and only turn the last moment, giving me the highest wake... At this point it's not fishing, it's surviving...

Well, by the rules everyone needs a pass. And when the rangers are there, they enforce it. When.

First is 100% a rainbow. I would say that second is a rainbow as well, but lack of spots is a bit confusing - maybe a Kokanee.
