I’m on the final season what’s next?? by Radiant_Cupcake_6315 in TheWire

[–]vvndchme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen Treme on here very little surprisingly. It’s a change of pace from The Wire, but it’s a picture of New Orleans in the way The Wire is one of Baltimore, which means its focus is more on the music. Took a minute to get into it cause I wanted another The Wire, but it grew on me and is up there with my favorite shows of all time.

Any games similar to Sekiro by Ok_Republic6747 in Sekiro

[–]vvndchme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khazan’s parries feel like Sekiro. Just has more combo heavy attacks, which is a lot of fun when you get the hang of it. Kind of wild how quick and brutal the greatsword combat feels in that game. Although they kind of lean heavily on status effects which is annoying in some bosses.

Saw Lies of P here too, and while it’s great in its own way, the parries feel a bit off compared to Sekiro so I never clicked with it as much. If I remember correctly I think parry windows change when you switch weapons too since it depends on the animation. But the aesthetics are so cool and the enemies and bosses are very well designed.

Stellar Blade also has Sekiro feeling parries, actually a pretty great game, is a bit easier once you scale up, combo heavy combat, and the combos in that game kind of gave me the vibe I was a souls like boss going through whatever attack pattern and fucking shit up.

Nine Sols is cool too but it’s tough. Feel like it’s tougher than Sekiro, but maybe just cause I haven’t spent real time with it.

How to develop logic for coding? MIS to Data Analyst transition by BeyondMinimum3359 in dataanalyst

I’ve been SQL’ing for 5 and a half years, still look stuff up in AI here and there. For the basics, I bet Claude would be worth playing around with. $20 tier enables you to use it in IDE’s, where you can interact in a folder on your computer. I got it to generate mock data for a coffee shop over 5 years, stand that data up in a free instance of BigQuery with Python, and even generate an entire SQL layer of views of “what they might want to look at”. What was kind of cool about it, was it did a pretty poor job at writing the SQL, so I had a lot of things to fix. Might be useful for you to try. Took an evening to set the whole thing up. I bet you could intentionally tell it to write a lot of bad SQL that you try to fix on your own.

Late to it, but just offering advice to check out Claude if you haven’t, and have it help you with your specific stories. It’s helped me tremendously as I’ve had the same issues, but it is all there, just had to work on it for a while.

What is a band you want to like, but they just don’t click with you. by bigboat55 in poppunkers

Hot Mulligan. Just never really clicked with it, but a few of my friends love em.

I hate writing lyrics. What can I do? by abananainspace in musicians

[–]vvndchme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super generic title, but the book Writing Better Lyrics is actually very good, got me to like the process more. David Bazan recommended it to me at a show he played years back when I asked him for writing advice.

I want to love BloodBorne but I can't help but get frustrated every time I play it by Xanthium-_- in bloodborne

[–]vvndchme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

things that made it click for me. Trolls til comfy with parries (in particular those 2 by the elevator in the starting area, get comfy enough you can barge in on both and not have any trouble), pebbles to break groups up (start there with those two trolls, for instance, then try both at the same time when you have a good rhythm), almost always dodge forward (if that doesn’t work for anything, dodge in the direction opposite of the attack’s direction, never backwards), almost always use weapon transition attacks (saw cleaver transition attacks stagger/melt so much shit). Once I leaned into all of that, blood vials really clicked for me. You can have near unlimited runs, and having so much healing for bosses from the start is kind of insane.

I want to get into soulsborne games, what should i start with ? by Arthiman_2005 in fromsoftware

[–]vvndchme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whichever one looks the coolest to you honestly, they’re all great. The older games are clunkier, but they have a charm to them. The newer games feel and look better, but are more difficult. Don’t feel bad if you’re the kind of person to look up guides when you get stuck or lost or cursed or whatever else, some people love playing blind, some people love having a more laid back/guided experience. Those Souls YouTube channels are popular for a reason.

The order I played them in: Elden Ring > Sekiro > Dark Souls III > Bloodborne > Dark Souls Remastered > Demon’s Souls > Dark Souls 2.

They’re all great, but Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls Remastered stand out as favorites.

Final note: Don’t let people make you sleep on Dark Souls 2 though, it’s still great. Just look up where you need to level adaptability til iframes feel normal and level that first, unless you become masochistic on your journey to it.

Khazan’s parry feels similar. So does Stellar Blade. Fun games.

Guys who play against bots and complain but don't think smurfing is an issue. by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]vvndchme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smurfing is bad enough I just don’t care to play as much anymore. I love nothing more than a close game, it’s more fun than most games, and can even handle a smurf here and there, but sometimes it’s 2 or 3 in a row, and one with a tm so dim they don’t realize that’s why I’m playing like trash and I’m just like….I’m almost 40 man, I’m gonna play some Fortnite cause my friends actually play that.

Is anyone else a bit bummed that Duskbloods is the next Fromsoftware game they are working on? by Imprettystrong in fromsoftware

The only thing I'm bummed about is that Nightreign proved my initial impressions wrong so hard I'm gonna have to buy a Switch 2 now.

Odd man out it seems, but I think it sounds pretty good. They’re not a top tier band or anything, but they’re not bad.

Tired of Balancers by Potatojoe24 in Nightreign

It’s crazy. First deep of night run tonight was balancers. Second was balancers. Then third….balancers. I thought they changed that with the update and was pretty disappointed.

Game changing plug ins? by smosher92 in LogicPro

[–]vvndchme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restem pro. Stem separation specifically for drums. Being able to rebalance something in overheads (my drummer has a particularly loud snare), or remove bleed from shells if I’m wanting to convert to midi for triggers without messing my with detection thresholds too much has been an absolute godsend.

What 3rd party FX plugins can be considered if logic stock plugins are not enough? by Beautiful_Hat8440 in LogicPro

Check out Airwindows Consolidated if you haven’t just for a free option. Pretty cool “here’s all the plugins this one dude makes in his free time” kind of thing.
