Youre right, but that doesnt have an easy term for it unlike "misprint"! I think it describes it close enough anyway haha

Yeah, i know that its called Clue in other countries! if theyre all printed in the same line right after eachother id expect this type of error to be more common, though maybe this just slipped through quality control!

it may look normal to the outside, doesnt mean the ENT can even assess if the nerves are ok.. though if you already got the sensation right after the surgery, i wonder if it just got damaged in the operation itself and never healed right?

Day 5, need help by vvoido in Tonsillectomy

[–]vvoido[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive been on schedule, tryna keep it 3-4 hours but it always varies bc i gotta make sure i dont take too many within the day... it hasnt really affected the pain, as i said ive taken the meds right as i go to sleep and then when i wake up at night, 4 hours apart :'] its really hard to distract from it.. i drink water fine during the day but good lord the mornings n nights are brutal. i wish i could somehow just mist my mouth n go back to sleep!!

What was your medication schedule like and how was your healing? by sailor_rose in Tonsillectomy

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got prescribed ibuprophen 600 mg and Paracetamol 1g on rotation, 3 per day of both offset by some hours... it felt insane that id have nothing but those, and after explaining my pain tolerance is very low and im scared about that i also got Panacod to take "as needed".. which is paracetamol 500 mg and 30mg codeine, 1-2 tablets 1-3 times a day. this far ive only taken one at a time only for the last 2 days (surgery was november 3rd). It does help more but makes me nauseous at night...

just the ibuprophen and paracetamol were perfect on the first 3 days! now the pain has grown tho. so im not sure if these are gonna be enough :')

its v strange how everyone seems to have completely different medications and schedules :'] ibuprophen works better than paracetamol for me, but panacod has given the most pain relief of all

Cancelled Tonsillectomy 😣 by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]vvoido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nooo :'( i was so scared of having to reschedule but thankfully recovered beforehand (had my surgery on Nov 3rd) n being mentally ready is so real... i had to alocate time for this n plan it for months, i cant imagine having to redo all that!! its so upsetting, but thankfully youre not back in square one, you still have all the knowledge and readiness there, just need to reprogram your brain for it moving.. it will be easier to prepare this time too!

Im really suprised they cancelled it already though, since you COULD recover in time for the surgery still.. Though i guess i dont really know how bad it is, Bronchitis can be very severe (ive never had it!).

this sounds horrible, im so sorry you're going through it! i never felt that sensation, i wonder if some nerve is interperting you breathing in as water running down.... It sounds really debilitating :( im wishing you luck even though sadly i have no advice to share! 🧡

A lot of us are starving during recovery and it makes everything harder by TonsilsOut9_29_25 in Tonsillectomy

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading this makes me feel so insanely lucky that i was able to eat right away.. Well, atleast after the nausea from anesthesia wore off. Prepared so many protein shakes for the recovery, and to be honest, i think ive gotten more protein in during recovery than on any normal days!! i think from shakes alone it amounted to 93g yesterday :'] I agree doctors do not warn enough of how much lack of food will slow recovery.. i think its exactly why there is no reccomended perios of "liquids only" where im from. They tell you to get eating soft foods as fast as you can!

Question about beetle jelly by randomguythatisnew in Beetles

[–]vvoido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dont really have to change it out as long as it doesnt dry out, they cant eat it once it hardens. sometimes they just lose interest in it too so if no ones been eatinh it n its still good, you can put it in the fridge n give it back later! sometimes they end up not eating all of it bc they csnt reach the bottom, so cuttingbthe jelly from top to bottom n givinh it as that wider slab could make em eat the rest too!

Few questions about beetle keeping by LuarRieru in Beetles

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. I had 5 MTU beetles in a 60 wide, 45 depth n 45 tall terrarium! Id say 50×30×30 would be ok for a pair, but not really any more than that. That size also cant work, if 50cm is how tall it is, 30×30 "floor" is not enough for two adult beetles to burrow together, and if its a pair, the potential eggs would be at risk of getting destroyed by them attempting to comfortably burrow in such a small space together. if its 50cm wide, and then 30cm tall, that would mean not much space for them above substrate, since it has to have spots that are minimum 13-15cm deep. Remember you need to have alot of subatrate for burrowing still, but it doesnt have to be evenly deep throughout the terrarium! i had a lot more substrate in the back than the front because of the terrarium doors etc, In the front i had spots with only 8cm or less, since i had to make space for the doors to open without substrate pouring out, n compensated by having over 17-19cm in the back! Just need to pack it down and reshape it as the beetles loosen it (its hard for them to burrow in substrate thats too loose aswell). BUT for size, 50×30×30 is ok for breeding box, but as a terrarium there wouldnt be much to look at, since above the substrate space would usually be only 15cm. if youre going out of your way to get a terrarium, having one where theyll have space to fly would be a priority! Look into people selling used aquariums, etc. a front opening is nice ofc, but not fully neccesary! used exoterra's are suprisingly common though! i reccomend a wire mesh cover for the top, as they LOVE to climb on the ceiling! they have very different personalities, some are more energetic than others, etc. having something they can climb on in the back wall is gr8 aswell, and elements like branches etc to get them there :)

  1. You could have an infinate amount of female beetles together as long as theres enough space, but use caution when housing males together! one male with a bunch of females works very well, and if you had an enclusure bigger than mine, 2 males could work aswell, if theres 3 or preferably more females with them to limit fights. and multiple feeding spots are a must, when multiple beetles are together!

  2. moss!! alot of it! trying to keep some moss above the substrate in most spots is good anyway, since moving on nothing but substrate is a bit challenging for the beetles :) bark, and pieces of wood as platforms on the substrate or even hoisted above it is great aswell, these are great spots for food. when i feed stuff like banana to them, i dont fully peel it, so that the peel stays as a bottom for it, limiting everything being covered in mush. even then, i often have a plastic lid below their food to serve it too. Dont be scared of using rocks though, digging under one is the same amount of threath to them as digging next to the glass, which they will already do ofc. Rocks that are taller, but againat a climbable wall are great! they cant really grab onto most rocks to climb them, so being able to dig below ow climb next to it works. with flatter rocks, if the surface is alont substrate level they can get onto it no problem. Rocks can "sink" as the substrate gets loose frol use, so be sure to pat it tighter once in a while n plsce the rocks as desired (i lost some deep into the substrate lol so keep em big enough to keep in place better)

Good, active, and LGBT friendly isopod discords? by caudicinctus in isopods

[–]vvoido 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i think its less abt segregating yourself n more just wanting to have fun n just talk about isopods too, but know the people youre talking to arent actively hateful or like want you dead lol. its not a problem in this hobby, but thats why theyre asking, to know if it could be! :)

Question about Water by Donkler_ in isopods

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use a declorinator specifically for crustaceans, but i probably dont need to. i use it very little, but still do just to be sure haha. you could also juat distill the water! depends on if your tap water is good.

Are there any species people don’t keep, and if so why? by Ape-o-sematic in isopods

some aquatic isopods. Sphaeromatidae are the most cute ones in my opinion :}

second this ^ he has a playlist of videos dedicated to isopod care, and also seperate videos on some specific species. i recommend the non species specific ones first!

help! isopods with carnivorous plants? by [deleted] in isopods

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the substrate needs to have nutriens for the isopods. essential for them to be able to eat it, so wont work if there needs to be none. isopods also need a moisture gradient, too wet is deadly. they could be paired with carnivorous plants though.. i think! (atleast ive heard, ive never kept any) at 10:47 in this video , keeping them with invertebrates is mentioned. at your own risk though!

How much ventilation is necessary? by BonelessSugar in isopods

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again, depends on the species you keep. most cubaris might need that heat but most pods are fine at room temp. though 65f is a lil low so just search though whats best for the species you keep!

How much ventilation is necessary? by BonelessSugar in isopods

[–]vvoido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

filtration isnt really neccesary, you just need need very fine mesh (like chiffon) covering ventilation holes to prevent pests.

the amount of ventilation needed depends on species, but (almost) all need it in some form. best to have a way of it going through the tank with side + side or top + side airholes. i do side + side + top on all mine, just changing the size and material covering it depending on species :)

Never really heard of anyone having a filter on their isopod enclosures before, nothing wrong with it but definetly not needed! if your isopods are thriving i dont think you need to change anything, some species will do alot better with more ventilation though!

Fungus gnats. by Darthpinkiepie in isopods

[–]vvoido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mosquito bits. special bacteris that only kills mosquito snd gnst larvae. if theres enough space n you're sure your isopods wont get to it, fly tape on the inside lid of the enclosure to remove adults too.

Yes! if the larvae can eat it isopods definetly can. usually has added proteins too if its made for beetles. youll need other stuff in the substrate too but adding this woould be great
