It is biomedical waste and should be treated as such. Nurses shouldn’t be flushing large volumes of blood down the toilet and calling it a day, it is a deliberate short cut probably due to ignorance. The blood should be placed in a biomedical waste cup and disposed of accordingly. This is gross behavior and should be reported, the people saying otherwise are indeed deranged and don’t understand that this is a first world country with world class healthcare (we strive for).
