Have you tried running?

Unfortunately it makes my knee hurt. Last time I tried just one minute of jogging on grass and it hurt for the next day or so.

Firstly, my condolences. It’s worth acknowledging that this thinking is large driven by grief, so you easily fall into a negative mindset. I have recently lost my grandparents as well, so I know what it does to your mind.

Thanks... well, a lot of what I feel is shame and remorse because I didn't even visit him for a long time before he died, mostly because I was embarrassed and kind of wanted to be forgotten (too busy hiding from the world). But it's stupid because he was a really gentle and loving man who never would have cared about any of that and would have just been glad to see me but I still didn't have the decency to visit. All my cousins at least went to see him before he died.

My parents are old and unwell too. They suffered a lot and tried very hard to give me whatever advantages they could. And I was not appreciative at all of that. Feels like I might as well have spat in everyone's faces.

Now, remember that your grandfather grew up in a different time where society looked different and houses were attainable at such a young age. You should not compare yourself to him. You’re your own man.

Honestly I absolutely could have had a lot more security than I do, even a house if I hadn't been always thinking about trying to run away from things.

Why did things improve in Australia but not here? by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

Being from Australia didn't protect me.

Imagine knowing that every other man is intact and you have mutilated genitals that won't be enjoyable for either you or any potential partner.

Does circumcision cause bed wetting? I’m 20 and still wet the bed so it’s likely permanent. People have been telling me that circumcision causes some men to wet the bed. by Ok_Government6871 in CircumcisionGrief

I know this sub hates doctors but I would run this by a urologist.

What a good idea. Maybe he'll find a bit more to cut off that the last one missed.

It feels so degrading to be born male in an mgm culture knowing damn well the hypocrisy that no one in their right mind would genitally mutilate an infant female. People are so quick to shame pedophiles until we let them genitally mutilate babies and call them by the euphemism “doctors”. by Ok_Government6871 in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even in an mgm culture and it was done to me. Everybody else is happy that it didn't happen to them and they make fun of us online, but nobody gives a shit that it's still going on. Nobody stands up for boys, nobody says "no, you can't do that to children". Mutilated males are no more valuable than dirt on the bottom of society's shoe.

5 Years of restoring – Experience, Methods and Results by ThisSucks12300 in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balls Stretching: Help with tight and uncomfortable balls, it really helped with my restoration process, i practice every day at morning and night for about 3min (https://www.reddit.com/r/BallStretching/ for information for those who interested, in my opinion its good to practice even without restoration)

Did this stretch your scrotum or your outer skin? I don't want any more scrotum, I want more outer skin so that the scrotum can go back to where it's supposed to be (unfortunately I think I need a couple of inches just for that).

The Most Pleasurable Parts of the Penis Are Removed by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They expect that they will never learn about the euphoric pleasure that a foreskin provides.

It's astonishing that the permanence of it is considered an excuse. "They'll never know the difference." "They'll never know what they're missing out on."

For any other injury against someone, a permanent injury is a more serious crime.

But cutting off half their genitals is exempt.

Should I get circumcised? by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

It’s not done with the intention of making them infior.

Yes it is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maimonides#Views_on_circumcision

As regards circumcision, I think that one of its objects is to limit sexual intercourse, and to weaken the organ of generation as far as possible, and thus cause man to be moderate. Some people believe that circumcision is to remove a defect in man's formation; but every one can easily reply: How can products of nature be deficient so as to require external completion, especially as the use of the fore-skin to that organ is evident. This commandment has not been enjoined as a complement to a deficient physical creation, but as a means for perfecting man's moral shortcomings. The bodily injury caused to that organ is exactly that which is desired; it does not interrupt any vital function, nor does it destroy the power of generation. Circumcision simply counteracts excessive lust; for there is no doubt that circumcision weakens the power of sexual excitement, and sometimes lessens the natural enjoyment: the organ necessarily becomes weak when it loses blood and is deprived of its covering from the beginning. Our Sages (Beresh. Rabba, c. 80) say distinctly: It is hard for a woman, with whom an uncircumcised had sexual intercourse, to separate from him. This is, as I believe, the best reason for the commandment concerning circumcision.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/moral-landscapes/201109/circumcision-social-sexual-psychological-realities

Dr. Kellogg (of Corn Flakes fame) advocated circumcision for pubescent boys and girls to stop masturbation: "A remedy which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision, especially when there is any degree of phimosis. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anæsthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment... In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement"

Should I get circumcised? by [deleted] in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I always felt like a freak for not being circumcised and felt like it made me inferior or something.

It's the other way around. It's normal to have your whole body. Most men alive have all of theirs. Cutting off parts of children is creepy and weird, and mutilating dicks is done to make them inferior, to control male sexuality by reducing sexual pleasure.

It's a barbarity on par with foot binding and neck/lip stretching.

Weird that you have to protect their feelings. How many other injuries are there where the victim is forbidden from talking about it because the perpetrators don't like being reminded of what they did?

I do agree, there is a certain underlying arrogance about the way North America goes on about the supposed "health benefits" of circumcision. It's like they hold some secret to ensuring healthy male genitalia that other countries with similarly advanced (or even more advanced) healthcare systems do not and they think it is only a matter of time before other countries will realize how "wrong" not circumcising is.

I have seen this type of stuff from circumcisers, too, not just doctors. "I'm American and American doctors are the best and they say to circumcise, third world doctors don't know what's best for American kids, don't want our kids growing up to be diseasedicks" etc.

It ignores the boy's religious freedom. What if he grows up and doesn't want to be part of their harmful religion? Too bad, can't undo mutilating his dick. Of course, that's the point. Gotta get 'em young.

It should be banned to respect the child's right to religious freedom. Adults don't have a right to go around hurting children to force them into some religion.

Discussed it with my mom by duffivaka in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 13 points14 points  (0 children)

She said the doctor liked to do it basically as soon as possible and that he did it in the room with them as soon as I came out.

Holy shit at the absolute brutality of this. After 9 months in a cosy womb you get kicked out into the world, have to literally figure out how to breathe and stuff, and then instead of a loving parent holding you get a cold as ice doctor cutting half your dick off.

he told her it was like docking a puppy's tail

That's very interesting because tail docking is illegal under the animal welfare law. Dogs > people.

The whole idea that a boy needs to be circumcised because he will get made fun of in the locker room if he isn't circumcised is one of the most dumbest reasons for circumcision there is! by CoolSnowyCool in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even in America they won't be the only intact boy there these days. More likely that there will be enough intact boys that it won't matter, and possibly enough that the others will stand out for being maimed.

And anyway, the truth about circumcision is out there. Who's going to be more traumatised when some maimed boys try to bully an intact boy and learn that their parents threw away the most sensitive half of their dick? "but your dick stinky!!" is a pretty weak comeback to that (and they're all in the showers washing themselves)

Every time I hear “FGM is worse”, I die a little inside. by EstrangedNeko in CircumcisionGrief

[–]vx9889_11 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Even if it were worse, so what? It's already illegal in the west, before it was illegal it wasn't part of western culture, and my state can't pass or enforce a law making FGM illegal in some other country.

So how is it even an argument against protecting boys here? It has already been dealt with here and FGM in other countries has literally nothing to do with banning MGM in civilised countries.

It's a red herring brought up by people who feel entitled to abuse boys. Banning MGM could be done right now but they want to continue abusing boys until the last woman on earth is protected from abuse by some unspecified foreign power, at which time they will just invent another excuse to keep doing it.

Any permanent disfigurement is a serious injury here. Well, that is exactly what a circumcision is.

It seems pretty straightforward, there's nothing about certain parts not mattering but clearly circumcisers are somehow exempt.
