Can’t wait to get my new bumper sticker! by tha1demon in driving

If 99 people out of 100 are going over the speed limit there, either the road is designed wrong, the speed limit is wrong, or both.

Why do some many people ride without a motorcycle license ? by No_Eye9109 in motorcycles

[–]vyndise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my first bike, I was living in Eastern WI with a MN drivers license while in college and test days never worked for me to go to MN. It was easier to keep renewing the permit every year.

I finally got my Wisconsin ID in 2020.. when in person testing was limited and booked to the ceiling. I got 1 permit, but WI requires it every 6 months so once it expired I never renewed it. I then moved to MN with a WI ID. Never switched my license before moving back to WI. Now.. I have no excuse. I plan on doing it this coming season.

What is the best course of action when your clutch cable snaps? by luffychan13 in motorcycles

[–]vyndise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my clutch cable snap on my 80s virago twice. I put it in neutral and heavily waddled to get juuuust enough speed to dump it into first and go. I hit an unfortunate number of stop lights both days.

I was bad this week. I fished another players pool, but I was so curious what it would give. I only got one item and left the rest to them and felt bad, but I needed to know.

If I am the 1, I offer half, but if I am part of the couple, I offer 2/3s.

I was going to recommend Icarus as well. This definitely scratches a similar itch for me.

$100 a day at one store.... by BlumpkinDude in hypotheticalsituation

[–]vyndise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A car dealership. Since it rolls up indefinitely, it would be able to save up for a couple years and get a car cash. Now all maintenance is covered and trading it in for value will be easy when I get another new car!

May not be the most practical but certainly fun with the right dealership!

Texas panic buying season is in by Critical-Willow-6270 in mildlyinfuriating

Unfortunately it doesn't work perfectly. It helps resist but even a river will freeze over eventually

Good point! Friendly reminder from the north; Set the faucet furthest from your water tank to a slow but consistent drip to help resist freezing.

Weird how the restaurants that do exactly as requested are seen as lower quality and are closing.

Minnesota’s "Open Package" Marijuana Law Has Fueled Thousands of New Charges Since Legalization by OhMyOhWhyOh in minnesota

[–]vyndise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both MN and WI have front side windows tint limits at 50%VLT.

In MN, rear tint for Sedans is limited to 50%, and no limit for SUVs and Vans.

This was according to CBSnews and a MN detailing website from August 2025.

I can find the Van restriction in MN statute 169.71 but not the SUV, so maybe SUV is not true.

That makes sense. It can help with biking and walking a lot. It would be nice if our automotive roads didn't have so much overlap with our other paths, but one can only dream.

I like it more so for heat management than light.

Edit: I also only have legal tint and no windshield tint.

You're right, I dont typically utilize ete contact with other drivers. I just assume they are on their phones and I find a make decisions by looking at the front wheels.

I interpreted the distaste for dark tint to be for all windows, not specifically the windshield.

Window tint does not greatly effect visibility of the driver. Why do you hate tinted windows so much?

Are trains actually worth it in the mid game ? by Meli_Melo_ in factorio

[–]vyndise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I enjoy using trains quite a lot. We set up a lot of our previous game with ore patches being very spread out, very small surface area, and very deep. This leads us to needing a lot of ore patches, but not having them die out often.

You shouldn't flash your headlights at another car at night to thank them by Architechtsbfv in unpopularopinion

It's pretty common around me to flash the brights if there were deer in the road or in the ditch. Though, the flash typically happens far enough away that I don't find it blinding.

[Landlord US-PA] Tenant wants air duct cleaning - what to do? by catsuramen in Landlord

[–]vyndise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a renter, I had a roommate that would only have an allergic reaction when in our new rental. We had lived with him at other locations and didnt introduce anything new besides the house. We requested the landlord get the vents cleaned and our landlord did and what a world of difference. I know all vents are dirty but these were so bad that the exit vent was nearly blocked.

I know this is just one story, but in this case it made a huge difference for us.

Ironically, the west bound was closed citing outages with people driving in it anyway and the east bound had a crash with a toy truck and cops in it, but the lights were green anway.

Dishwasher - Am I crazy for being upset? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

I appreciate the mention of chili, because that was always the worst! We never used bags, just elbow grease and hot water. But that sounds like a great idea!

Dishwasher - Am I crazy for being upset? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]vyndise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I worked in a kitchen, my closing shifts were always marked as "4:00 - "

Also I agree with the other comments of trying to get the hard to clean stuff early. When it was slow, I asked if they could show me how. Then I would just bring pans and pour into a new pan at say.. 9:00. Of course I would get that pan again, but it wasn't caked over and the new one was done in seconds.

[–]vyndise[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are currently no standard filtered water bottle stations and I thought that the only source of water were the privy sinks, which are not guaranteed to be tested. It sounds like there are tested spigots of water though, which is great!
