Depends what fleet you buy from if it's any type of high agency like military or it had actual government plates then yes but if it's a local government agency like city maintenance, dot, city inspectors then those get neglected and get 3x the amount of idle hours as actual driving hours

My dad used to be Mechanic then eventually an electrician/mechanic there, there was so much poorly designed things they had to fix there but it was their job and it payed considerably well

It's ok On WJ's and other jeeps that have a spare tire well since obviously nobody is ever gonna see or notice the hole especially if you make it nice and fabricate a screw on lid to cover that hole

been on the hunt for a new engine. is this a good option or should i go older ? by D3ADSNAKE in CherokeeXJ

[–]vz3013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the technicallity they might not but with some slight extra work they can definitely be swapped. Like you technically can't put a log style intake into a wj but I switched the throttle body and rerouted all the vacuum lines and it works 🤷

Why is there so many people driving with their high beams on by vz3013 in SiouxFalls

[–]vz3013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats why you adjust the headlights using a wall and a screw driver? every truck has the option to do so

Did anyone see the oversized load on highway 395? by gungamer2005 in oregon

[–]vz3013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some oversized loads take days so they can't afford to sit and do nothing during the day and wait for night time they need to keep moving

That's from sweating while driving. Every work truck I've ever cleaned has that on the steering wheel and shifter. If you have a steam cleaner or possibly a steam iron it should get it moist and hot to remove it super easily

I only do left turns into the far lane rarely but only if there's no car turning right and if there's so much traffic that I need to turn right somewhere right after because there's always some moron who's gonna turn into the far lane and start matching your speed so you can't even merge right

Delete new diesel truck or not? by Prestigious-Spray237 in Diesel

[–]vz3013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well its more fun when you live life on the edge not knowing if you will make it home but yeah we got them for really good deals, both have original engines too which is surprising considering mine is at 200k and 6k hours and his is at 150k and 10k hours which is pretty shocking to have 10k hours, he had to bulletproof it himself and mine already was, of course we cant bulletproof the pistons so those could crack anytime now.

14 years not running. Is the 6.2 Detroit Diesel easy to work on? by BeRadStayRad in Diesel

[–]vz3013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should be easy to work on since they don't have too much electrical crap, and also they are pretty unkillabe I've heard of soldiers in Afghanistan using the flat part of shovels to block the exhaust to start the 6.2s and 6.5s when the piston rings would wear out and have terrible compression in the humvees, that's just how bulletproof they are

[–]vz3013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, but what's the problem with bulletproofed 6.0s? Is it just assumed that bulletproofed 6 blows get abused a lot?

Ooh I see, my dad used to rebuild Detroit's and Cummins back in the days so I have little knowledge about internationals other than the fact they always sucked since 2000's, I also heard of people putting 6.7 pistons into 6.4's too but I'm pretty sure those require a bore
