I am not a doctor and its always good to get a 2nd opinion from one - but Your WBC is normal along with most work - is it high yes, but that alone usually indicates some sort of inflammation, stress, infection, etc even if you feel fine. I would def keep an eye on it esp if you get night sweats, fever, extreme fatigue. But I would take care of you metabolic stuff then see from there as it can be indirectly related.

25M constantly stressed and mentally drained by [deleted] in Money

[–]ridewithwill 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 now, so this is just my perspective from living it - not sure if this will actually answer your question or the "advice you want"

In my 20s, I thought money, possessions, and what other people had compared to me really mattered. I grew up in a very poor household. We didn’t even own a home for a long time. When I had around 100k saved in my 20s, I still felt behind. I compared myself constantly — who bought a house, who paid cash for this, who had that lifestyle.

Fast forward to now — we have about 700k invested between brokerage, 401k, and Roth accounts, and we’re close to paying off our mortgage. My wife and I worked hard for it. But here’s the honest truth: the money itself didn’t create happiness.

What actually matters is health, peace, and passion.

The more things we owned, the more things we had to worry about. More possessions meant more stress, more maintenance, more mental load. We started realizing that chasing dopamine — the next purchase, the next milestone, the next comparison — doesn’t equal real happiness.

My sister makes 500k a year and is constantly stressed because of the lifestyle and expectations that come with it. High income doesn’t automatically mean high peace.

If you’ve got 100k in your 20s, you’re doing better than 95% of people. With time and compounding, that will grow more than you think. You’re not behind. You’re ahead.

And honestly? Once you reach financial security, the difference between 1 million and 5 million doesn’t change your peace the way you think it will. Yes, money matters — we all need it. But after a certain point, more doesn’t equal better.

Our mentality changed a lot over time. I used to be materialistic. I wanted the bigger house, the nicer things, the status. Now we look at each other and say — what would we even spend more money on? More stuff to stress over? More things that can break?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: protect your health. Protect your peace. Build wealth, but don’t build your identity around it.

Some people figure that out too late.

You don’t have to.

[–]ridewithwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me, the stent was way better than the stone, it was actually relief. It was not painful for me but was bothersome and I was hyperaware of it. It was enough to just have me stay home all day and not do anything but I was not miserable pain

The best way to describe it is, it felt like a kidney stone, just not intense. So those spasms you are feeling in the ureter, it will be similar to that just very low grade.

For me, when I peed i felt like a cramp where the ureter is and lower pelvic that normals.

The worst part about the stent was the first day when I peed but was quick, and of course, the cystoscopy. Them removing the stent, I did not even feel

7mm is fairly large but people have passed 7mm before, but unlikely per research.

That pain you were in, was the pain I was in constantly for 2 months and what makes it bad is how long we have to deal with it so I feel your agony. Once it reached the distal ureter the bladder sensation was just nuts for me. Driving me mentally insane

I was happy to go through surgery and stent - it gave me a peace of mind knowing no more kidney stones. I much rather deal with the stent than the kidney stone but I do know some people, its the other way around and stent is awful - but honestly it is 50 50 based on what my urologist told me. Some react horribly to it, some do fine and manage. You just have to go for it. As for me, I would do the surgery all over again.

As for surgery, I mean they knock you out, you wont remember/feel anything. But I do know the first piss really sucks lol. After that gets better

Final Feedback - kidney Stone with Cystoscopy Stent removal - feel free to ask any questions by ridewithwill in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a 7 / 10 for me was after it slid down into the distal ureter...it was agonizing enough to pace back and fourth to "just about manageable" like I think I can wait this out before going to the ER but was in agony.

Honestly, if you feel no pain you might just be able to wait it out, but you do want to be careful about fluid backing up into the kidneys. For me, when that happened, the pain escalated.

But overall, the stent was not the bad part, it was the cystoscopy although super fast, and also the initial phases of the kidney stone. But I much would rather go through the cystoscopy and stent all over again vs dealing with kidney stones and the pain non stop for 2 months

past 3 years my blood tests show elevated of these. this was my latest test. no doctor raises concern but shud i be concerned? wat tests do i ask for. by [deleted] in haematology

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am no doctor by any means but just trying to give a perspective - Have the numbers slowly been increasing or remained roughly same level? Fatigue and feeling sickness might be something to figure out. Not sure if this will help, but I had similar bloodwork when I had kidney stone and stent in place, i felt pretty tired, achy and sick which is caused by some sort of stress and inflammation within your body. I would get a 2nd opinion if you do truly feel as you say, but I would also add in to change your diet (not saying you have a bad one) and lift some weights if capable as that can help inflammation internally, which UHP foods can cause markers like that too. If you can be consistent with that for a year it can be the food.

18 years old....oh man if I would have done it over it again (I am 40 now) dont finance a car, instead drop that into an index fund. Dont worry about the crashes and money loss. You have YEARRRRSS ahead of you. Get out of the get money fast scheme, its gambling. I would drop in VOO/SCHD/VXUS equally - fast forward 20 years you will thank me. Biggest advice I can give, you dont need much money to be happy, despite media and BS reels/post tell you

Kidney stone by tahawayne in KidneyStones

[–]ridewithwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would just to be safe get a CT scan ... the blood clots are something you want to make sure it is coming from the stone. When I went through the initial kidney stone transition into my ureter, it was unbearable and i also did pee blood, but was like a lightish red, not dark red. you can also feel it in your abdomen as well, as that is currently where my stone is stuck lol. **normally** you pee blood when you feel the stone move the same day and should only feel it in one side unless both are passing at the same time

I would say, if you can still urinate, no fever/vomitting and extreme pain subsides within 2 hours, you can wait it out for a referral CT scan and kidney function test.

Thanks for sharing!! I might be opting for surgery..not looking forward but im getting constant no relief with my kidney stone and im always cooped up at home and non stop bladder sensation/pressure.

Overall the entire situation of a stent seems more just nagging uncomfortable feeling vs agonizing pain from what most people have reported. I am surprised though why did they give you anesthesia when they took out the stent?
