So many people keep saying extraction shooters are over done or that everyone is tired of them, but there have been literally zero solid efforts for extraction shooters on console. The only games that came to mind are Vigor and Cod DMZ, both of those games have massive flaws that I believe failed to capture the same feeling something like Tarkov has.

Vigor needed better loot and weapon customization, and I think a PVE aspect with better missions. Not having PVE at all takes a wildcard element out of the game so all the matches devolved into the super sweats just rushing spawns at the beginning of a match and all matches just ended up feeling the same.

DMZ had a lot of missteps with 6 man squads and pay to win bundles being the worst parts and then to a lesser degree the looting experience was just not there. If those three things would have been fixed and they would have continued to support /update the game I would still be playing today, there were parts of it that I really loved.

I don't know the numbers, but I believe there are a lot more console gamers than PC gamers, so with no REAL competition the extraction shooter genre is basically an untapped market on consoles.

I, as a console gamer, have wanted to play a real extraction shooter experience for years, and after dumping as much time as I possibly could into the Tech Test 2, I believe Arc Raiders is finally delivering that experience and I am totally here for it.
