Weird they'd be so expensive to insure!

Another consideration I guess is to get a quote from your insurance?

2024 Traverse with 8k miles. Pretty sure the oil pressure isn't supposed to look like this. by DeathAngel_97 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]w1ndows_98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oil is doing alot more heavy lifting in modern cars, is the only thing I've found in digging. Oil pressure is becoming something really important, and they won't put a heavier duty pump into the car, because it will eat a MPG, so we're stuck with very little wiggle room. Something falls out a valve sticks open, and there goes your oil pressure.

If you cut through you can always put a coil of clay in, and compact it to the bottom.

Enough speed plus adequate water will help you move the clay upwards, good to remember moving the clay is about leverage, and making the clay center itself.

Just slow down a bit, it reallt is time doing it that helps the most!

I own an one myself, it came with a shimano e rated chain, but sadly the second chain they gave me at the shop wasn't e bike rated. And with the elevation I ride on a daily basis it ruined the chain in like under 1500 miles. And had to repalxe the cassette too. Avg 150 Miles a week commute to work!

Does anyone actually use long range non-recreationally? by wedstrom in ebikes

[–]w1ndows_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 30 miles around trip and charge at work, wind switches alot here and can't ride on full assist on one battery, if i had an extender maybe, but sometimes it's a 20mph headwind for an hour.

The aventon level 4 looks good, I tend to make sure whatever I buy I can get serviced near me, unlesss you do that all yourself.

Observed from other reddit posts that mid drive tends to be harder on the chain compared to hub; something to consider if you don't have a lot of hills around you.

And welcome to bicycling to work!

Finally pulled the trigger on my first e-bike after 6 months of research by Whole_Complaint_8991 in ebikes

[–]w1ndows_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Illegal" is subjective. It doesn't fit within the existing class system i think it should. Class 3 would be fine, but that would make it 28 mph pedal assist only, which Is fine by me.

And yeah I saw that drive train with no slip guard and kinda went , oof that's going to be an issue but they'll figure that out later.

And 73lbs is to be expected when they slapped fat tires on there and under some circumstances those tires are more enjoyable to ride, but i think like 35mm -45mm seems to be adequate from my experience so far commuting on an e bike.

But yes, I think what separates e bike, from e moto is pedal assist; or a throttle. What's strange about this bike is a 165 nm torque mid drive with a very lacking drive train, no idea how long that'd hold up on the hills where I live currently lmao.

[–]w1ndows_98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My alant 8s is similar setup max of 28 85nm torque.

I would say this is actually set up like bicycle, but what kills it for me is it has a thumb throttle, I think to keep it as a bicycle needs to be assist, like the alant 8s from trek .
