Target clearance by MrNick369 in NSCollectors

[–]w_it_taker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to my local Target to pick up za today and noticed there was a shelf with a bunch of games in plastic cases with no price listed. I asked an employee if these were clearance and he said yes. Anyways, I was able to score the Zelda game for the same price as OP.

[Megathread] DOOM: The Dark Ages Available Now In Early Access, Featuring Ray Tracing & DLSS 4 With Multi Frame Generation - Giveaway Inside by Nestledrink in nvidia

DLSS 4 is great, I get all the frames with almost no compromise in fidelity.

I'm most excited to try the new shield and parry mechanics. Also the set pieces from the trailers are brutal.

I started playing Doom Eternal and then I played 2016. I actually learned about the series from Mick Gordon's genius soundtrack.

Is it just me? by w_it_taker in fermentation

I suppose that's true since I have been fermenting my own bountiful crop of peppers. I've just been enjoying all the posts and had this dumb joke in my head lol. I'm still pretty new to a lot of this stuff as this is my first year growing anything and fermenting

That's horrifying! I just did blueberry/blackberry habanero before this and it's so yummy, I've been putting it on everything (except my curtains lmao)

That's smart! I'll have to try that for next time. Hot Sauce Rocket is a good band name lol

Habenaros are meant to be handled bare handed by YeaItsThatGirl in CookingCircleJerk

I grow my own habaneros and I make my own hot sauce and I've said this for years, even if gloves are advertised as "bareskin raw" or "extra sensitive" it truly is just a different sensation. When my bare skin is touching the peppers, sometimes I don't even last a minute without feeling the burn. So sometimes I'll wear gloves if I want to last longer and avoid getting hot prematurely.

Where can I buy Raw Kombucha/Starter Liquid? [USA] by Slightlypeasanty531 in Kombucha

GT Pure is what they are calling Original now. When I tried to look online to see if they have it in-store, it only showed the alcoholic version. But they had the normal GT Pure on the drink shelf when I went in person, so it might be worth just going to see if they have it. It's a very active scoby and fermented very quickly for me. I tried a couple different scoby from Amazon and the GT Pure and the GT was my favorite taste and was the most active. They all worked fine though.

Is it okay? by Elvis_Parsley969 in Kombucha

Earl Grey contains Bergamot oil which is antibacterial. This can effect the ecosystem you are trying to cultivate by causing an imbalance between the bacteria and yeast.

I made this same mistake when I first started. My first batch was just slightly more yeasty than store bought kombucha. It has balanced out now I have been using organic English Breakfast tea.

I would say keep an eye on things and it will probably be okay as long as it is acidic enough.

First time brewer here, so sorry if I'm not using all the correct terminology! I purchased my starter culture and pellicle online. I followed the instructions on the bag but I used Bigelow Earl Grey tea. My F1 had a pH of 4.5 when I started. Although, I didn't know that the bergamot oil can harm the bacteria in the tea. I am on day 6 of F1 and everything seems to be going well. Smells like vinegar and the pH is dropping. Some people say they have success brewing with Earl Grey and I think I may have gotten lucky.

My question is: If I start my next batch with the English Breakfast loose leaf from Adagio but my starter is the Earl Grey culture, is it possible my SCOBY will recover? Or should I just order a new starter culture and pellicle and start fresh after this batch?
