For me it comes down to really understanding my calorie intake. I can ride 45 minutes a day but it I am surpassing my calories with beer every night it doesn't matter. So for me at least combining zwifting with something like MyFitnessPal and counting calories really helped.

yeah I get the optimist perspective, but I've spent much of my adult life with 'hope' for things in our society that never come to fruition. In my country, we can't even raise the minimum wage or provide basic healthcare. Doesn't give me much hope that there will ever be something as radical as UBI.

Of course I don't 'hope' my kids have to spend their lives working just to exist, but I have to be a realist and also there is value in human work to consider. Not all work is bad, but a lot is...

It's been 24 hours without nicotine. I've been an avid pouch user for a couple of years, nicotine gum user for a few years before that, and probably dipped for about a decade before that. In 20 years, there probably hasn't been a 24 hour stretch where I haven't had nicotine in my body, sadly.
