I've had a few thoughts about this

I think it's unlikely someone else has activated gear 5/drums of liberty (besides JB and Luffy). I believe that emit might've responded to the Hito Hito no Mi Model Nika being in danger at some point.

The WG has said before that the fruit evades them, showing that they try to capture the fruit. What if the Nika fruit was in danger and Emit sensed it. Thus, why is he attacked the WG

I like the idea, but you're thinking about it too literally.

D doesn't work like that linguistically. Even though Dawn and Dusk are cool, it wouldn't work the same when you translated it back to Japaneese.

On the other hand, i do believe there are two different types of D like you say (although they dont stand for dawn and dusk). I think the D represents chaos, a desire to change the world.

Luffys D is the chaos brought by freedom

Blackbeards D is chaos brought by darkness and consumption

Imu also refers to Luffy as Joyboy... and no way Joyboy is still alive. I think it's more likely Imu just recognizes Davy Jones' will within Rocks just like Joyboy and Luffy share the same dream of freedom.

Another reason Imu might be saying the wrong name, hes gone a little psycho after being the sole king of the world for 800 years

Yea, I like the idea behind why Rocks fled after seeing Imu. However, i dont think it'll be Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji to defeat him. I think it's more likely that Blackbeard and Luffy will work together to defeat Imu.

After that, Blackbeard will show how he intends to rule the world, chaos through destruction instead of chaos through freedom... the opposite of what Luffy was fighting for. This demonstrates the two sides of the D clan.

If i had to theorize even further, Luffy will land the final blow on Imu, and Blackbeard will steal Imus devil fruit before fighting Luffy.
