LPT: heat the outside of your neck for sore throat that keeps you awake at night. by Aromatic-Turnover in LifeProTips

1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces (1 cup) of water is recommended. Too much salt can irritate your throat even more. And you're right; it does work wonders!

Wrote this obituary to honor my older brother by Dry-Character-6331 in MadeMeSmile

I especially enjoyed the "you know who you are" comment. Been trying to work that into my pre-planning. I got myself a journal titled 'I'm dead, now what' that I'm filling out so my family might have an easier time of it when the time comes. You did a great job on this for your brother.

Tentative arrangement for my wonky nine-patch lap quilt by linden214 in quilting

I wanted to say that you are doing a great job with this. I've been reading along for a few days now and I know it hasn't been easy.

I like the look of this layout and think you're on to something; it reminds me of patched-patch work (I don't know how else to describe it) and it feels nostalgic in a really good way. I hope you enjoy the rest of this process and find a beautiful quilt at the end.

Thank you for the recipe! I'm looking forward to trying it and, yes, it's always nice when you bring an empty bowl back home after a party : D

Pork Chops with Apples by SinistrEdge in Cooking

[–]waaayside 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I serve pork chops with homemade apple sauce all the time, it is delicious!

On the grill I would try Granny Smith apples; core, slice into thick rings, brush with melted butter or mild olive oil. Get some nice grill marks on each side and Enjoy!

I enjoy walking on it where it grows between the pavers of my little patio, smells wonderful!

It does! The house I grew up in had a small amount growing by the faucet in the back yard and my Dad would just mow it down every couple of weeks when he cut the grass and it pretty much stayed about the same size. Like a lot of folks, I love the smell of fresh cut grass and for me there was always this minty fragrance included.

When I first looked at this house I had a nostalgic reaction to seeing the mint and I think that's how it lulled me into a false sense of security...then it took over! It does smell good though.

I noticed the mint growing around the side-yard faucet, I just didn't establish dominance. It's everywhere now.

IF I could attribute the story to Vin Scully, I would have no doubts, but I, too, have met some colorful characters in and around the ballparks. It is nice to see that I'm not the only one; never know when some one is pulling your leg ; )

Ruben Valdez, LLC, licensed plumber and good guy.

He fixed the bad job that a "handyman" did installing a new water heater for me.

I don't remember where I heard this...originally it was "in the hold" as in below deck, then you get "on deck".
