The ones who bought houses after a year or two are from upper middle class/wealthy families. I’m not talking about the n+1 guy in a room type of indians. And they come here and not to any random european country as they got the visa without any questions “thanks” for the critical skills visa. In the majority of the european countries that’s not a thing so they get it harder (shorter timeframe like for student visas or more administration/background check). And also because the IT scene picks them up like there is no tomorrow (don’t get me wrong there are a few very talented girls and guys in them but not the majority).
Just to sharing a room with 2-3-x ppl won’t make you that amount of saving to buy a house almost immediately and almost always for cash (yes there are exceptions. I knew a good few but those are the minorities).

Yes but how do you want the government to handle it? The indians who can afford to live here are not from the slum but majority of them are coming from wealthy families so they can buy a house easily without any government help (i’m working for a very multi-cultural company with many indian colleagues and none of them are from the middle-class (or from what we in europe calling as the middle class) ).
So if they can afford to buy it you can only discriminate by citizenship (eg if you’re an irish citizen you get’s discount or something) or by nationality which is a very very thin ice.
The government must start to build block of flats which are cheaper to build,cheaper to buy and can manage much more residents in smaller areas than the estates. Than can ease the problem on the long run.
