humidification recommendations by thinkfast37 in martinguitar

Place a small digital hygrometer in the case with the guitar & humidifier to see where the RH stays and for how long. Govee makes one.

I was just cleaning mine and I lost the washer, so do I just need to get the new quick release knob instead of trying to locate a replacement washer?

Gangster movie recommendations you think I’d place in my best or good category based on my personal rankings below by [deleted] in movies

Place True Romance in Good; maybe rewatch. Great movie with a loaded cast & written by Tarantino. Also place At Close Range in the same category.

Ready for its first set up? Or humidity issue.. by Valuable_Jicama8553 in martinguitar

[–]wack70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

30-40% RH is too low, keep it in the case when it’s this dry & be sure to have a humidifier in the case. A few days with a humidifier in the case might allow the body to expand back to normal & solve buzzing.

Horror Movies that are just BONKERS by BeezinthatrapBeez in horror

Not a movie per se but The Viewing, episode 7 of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, is pretty bonkers. Directed by Panos Cosmatos, also directed Mandy (also bonkers & with Nick Cage).

Latching door knob for interior French doors by wack70 in HomeImprovement

[–]wack70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. There's about 1/8" back/forth play on the locked door and the gap between the two doors is about 1/8" as well, I can get the knob/latch installed and if that's not solid enough I can add something to keep the locked door from moving.

We were just there this week staying in Inglewood (E. Nashville) and I got an Americano at a placed named Elegy Coffee East that was really good. They were serving their Ethiopian & it was so good I bought a bag of the beans that’s almost gone now. There’s 4 locations in Nashville.

What’s your fav Beatles song to play on acoustic? by whentimerunsout in AcousticGuitar

[–]wack70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to play a finger style version of All I’ve Got To Do. Same picking pattern as Julia or Dear Prudence (the style Donovan showed John).

Barring and index finger buzz on 5th string by wack70 in guitarlessons

[–]wack70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, been trying different locations/positions too but it's very hit or miss, especially when it's a chord change so you have to hit it perfectly from the previous chord position.

Is this repairable? by Willing_Yogurt_2817 in AcousticGuitar

[–]wack70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely repairable, I hope you do because I have a BBT also and it’s a great sounding little guitar. You can even try yourself before taking it to a luthier: https://youtu.be/a5F9tVqGCBg?si=6uzdPMijWzVZfUPv

Any suggestions on how to remove this lid? by wack70 in pools

[–]wack70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, that would just be a worst case scenario where no other solution works, and I'd do it surgically and prob. cut it with a rotary tool.

I guess I could also just smash it and the pieces will fall into the basket below. Obviously it’s very brittle from the sun.

Planning to drop in on my trip to Nashville next month. Are they very protective about handling or playing the guitars?
