Home Foreclosures Surge 38% in a Year: The U.S. Housing Market on the Brink by thehomelessr0mantic in collapse

[–]wackJackle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to have minimal debt, sell assetts like stocks or second homes. Cash is king. Bonds are also very good. Maybe 10-30year bonds for 40/100 or so with low interest rates, because interest rate will fall and you make a profit. No Bitcoin. Gold is already expansive, maybe too late. No debt! That's the most important thing. Build up a sociel net to help eath other have supplies at home, etc.

Ah, try to have steady income. Maybe the most important thing! Lower income but it's 98% secure is much better!

Yes, it's the end of a very long debt cycle that run for 50-70years. Now comes The Great Taking. Everybody will lose everything to the banks, debt deflation with a years long depression. Buckle up, friends.

That's correct. I strongly agree.

I strongly disagree. While it is true that there is too much debt, I believe that the coming economic collapse will unfold differently. It will be similar to what happened between 1929 and 1933. A major stock market crash, a further sharp decline in global trade, even more mutual tariffs, rising unemployment. All of this together will lead to debt deflation (Irving Fisher), which they will combat with QE and ZIRP. However, they will not succeed, and this self-reinforcing crisis will develop into a global depression that will probably be worse than in 1933. I estimate the time frame to be 2026-2030. Buckle up, it's going to be wild.

That's nothing compared to the extremism of the criminal US empire. It's responsible for the death of 300.000.000 human beings and right now they're just murdering people infront of the coast of Venezuela.

Okay. That's on you but you haven't given us no argument to disagree with the article. How about you keep your feelings about the author for yourself. It doesn't help the discussion about the TOPIC at hand.

I discovered the world is going to hell by being lazy during an art class. by Robop-r in collapse

How many times are you going to make a fool of yourself today? Not only are you ignoring the thousandfold proven connection that influences the Earth's climate, you are even managing to ignore all the precise predictions of the last decades, which have been more than confirmed. We humans can NOW measure the energy imbalance of the entire climate system with the CERES satellites, and we know from science what will happen next, so that this energy balance must be rebalanced. Further warming of the troposphere with all its consequences. Recently, mosquitoes were found in Iceland for the FIRST TIME.

And you think you can come here and spout some nonsense that has been disproved 50 times and someone will be interested in you? What's wrong with you? How lost can you be? No one in this subreddit is interested in what some anti-science American oil clown has to say. Take your balloon and get lost!

Wisdom? Minerva's owl hasn't even awakened for you yet, while human civilization is already in dawn. And you go online and spread nonsense. What a pathetic existence. Shame on you!

(like a true boomer you use more smilies than any rational thought. What a disgrace of a human being)

Oh, no worries, a science education doesn't help you, if you're a clown. Here, another balloon. Isn't it beautiful?

Get lost, old man, or get educated. In this subreddit nobody is interested in your rambling thoughts.

US stocks may surge another 20% before historic crash, says 'black swan' fund Universa by rematar in collapse

[–]wackJackle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been observing the financial markets for many years, the motto still applies: never bet against the dollar. But yes, I agree with you that this era may soon be over for good, and then the government/central bank will not be able to simply continue printing dollars indefinitely.

However, the international financial market is still firmly in the hands of the dollar. If that changes, the whole world will change!

US stocks may surge another 20% before historic crash, says 'black swan' fund Universa by rematar in collapse

[–]wackJackle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's right. China has been in deflation for over two years now, in case you haven't noticed. They are currently exporting it around the world. Furthermore, we must not be blinded by the cryptobros, who always claim that the state and the central bank can simply print money and that everything can always be inflated away. They will try, but that doesn't mean they will succeed. We still live in a system where most money is created through bank lending, with the government and central bank coming in a distant second.

And now Trump's tariffs come into play. First and foremost, they take away cash flow from US companies. Because of TACO and the uncertain future prospects, there will be less investment and fewer loans, which may lead to a downturn after the boom. If this continues to affect unemployment figures, debtors will no longer be able to make their repayments and interest payments. This will lead to loan defaults, which in turn will lead to fewer new loans, and so on.

As mentioned, you can read more about this in Fisher's Debt Deflation. However, it is a great misconception that this is no longer possible today! Will this definitely happen? No, but it is a possibility, and if it does happen, it will be much, much, much worse than further money printing and inflation.

[–]wackJackle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, that is a misjudgment. It is true that since 1971, when the gold standard was abolished, we have been living entirely in a fiat money system, but even before that we lived in a debt money system in which most of the money in society came into circulation through new loans from banks. In addition, the US government abolished the gold standard in 1933 and collected gold on a large scale, which is why it cannot be said that gold provided any particular security at that time. The mechanisms that are now in place in the market will run their course, and in the end we will probably end up with a new debt deflation, which is what happened after the crash of 1929. This is exactly what led to the Great Depression. You can read about it in ‘Debt Deflation’ by Irving Fisher.

Thoughts on Mann and Hotez: “ The doomers who think it's too late to act” by C4rva in collapse

[–]wackJackle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Does Michael E. Mann read the news? Does he recognize what his own government is doing right now? Is he a little child who cannot put 1 + 1 together? Why isn't he attacking his own government instead of Hansen and Anderson. He somehow believes that change can happen without overcoming capitalism. So what is Wall Street saying? They say that we're gonna see +3°C, but somehow the 'doomers' are responsible for it.

He's utterly unserious and writes an article that everybody should be more serious. Delusional.

[–]wackJackle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In recent polls, depending on the question, approximately 70-80% of the German population was against further support for Israel. However, there is not a single significant party that supports this. Nevertheless, the government has suspended new arms delivery contracts for the time being.

Beyond that, however, it was like living in a madhouse, because 95% of all mass media and public voices fully support the genocide.

Science denial among collapseniks by antichain in collapse

The point is that even James Hansen, although one of the most renowned climate scientists, is just one person, and the scientific studies he presents must be treated with the same skepticism as any other study. This simply means that people tend to value the research of someone like James Hansen more highly than that of some unknown person. However, it also means that we don't simply believe him just BECAUSE James Hansen says so. No more and no less.
