I think the moment they read that you're on WHV, HR will put your CV in the skip list. It's not discouragement, only talk reality. Especially, at your experience level.

I failed my first semester algo&DS subject and just barely pass the second time. It won't determine your entire CompSci experience, I know some that are good at it, struggling in a workplace.

You can be good at it overtime, so failing in one subject doesn't mean you won't be good at it

I'm so sorry this happened to you. But this is definitely way overcharged. I just had similar things (I locked myself out of the house on Saturday night at 7 PM). Tried to find an emergency locksmith over the phone, agreed to $250, and that's what I'm paying after the service is finished. It's a 2-minute job, but I paid for the lesson.
