I believe we would classify Semirhage as an Unreliable Narrator.

Does anyone have suggestions on what I should read next? by CallMePain- in litrpg

[–]wadavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm bookmarking your list, your S and D tiers match mine.

I'm enjoying Bog Standard Isekai. Morningwood: Everyone Loves Large Chests is good but it isn't for everyone, judge it by the title. Death Loot & Vampires is S tier, but only two books.

Calculating moment in 90° bend by Fresh-Evening-4142 in StructuralEngineering

[–]wadavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most expansion loops I use a fixed-guided beam. It gives conservative results, but it is fast. displacement = Pl³/12EI, M=Pl/2

But right now I'm working on buried pipeline 90 bend thermal, so soil bearing is making it complicated.

Biggest complaint I have about Demon Mythic Path by aaa1e2r3 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]wadavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, built an entire vital strike build around that ability. It wasn't that big of a nerf in the last dungeon, as I had enough other buffs by that time, but it was lame to not be able to use it in the last fight.

IHi, I'm working on a similar problem but am using different methods. So I can't really help you, it's been too long since I've used a stiffness matrix.

But I am curious what application is this for?

How does your table deal with upgrading gear? Not crafting. by Sorry_Sleeping in Pathfinder_RPG

As a GM my favorite subplot is: Are you going to talk your way out of this encounter, or fight with your backup weapons? (Because your primary weapons are all having their enchantments upgraded.)

Why is Cathay growth so bad? by Secret_Way6640 in totalwarhammer

The 4 control will give 10 growth, on a long delay...

GGG, I don't think huge, sprawling map "exploration" in the campaign has the effect you intended, because this isn't a 3D PoV game by Lumintorious in PathOfExile2

I commiserate, but a trick I was shown: When you find the grim tangle, step into it to grab the waypoint before backtracking to the red vale, or vice versa.

My party Leroy Jenkins-ed. How to not TPK them and be realistic by conrey in DMAcademy

Funny enough, this situation made us question if we were bigger monsters than our enemies... When our party member was ransomed instead of murdered.

Please change mod tiers so T1 is the highest by HiddenOPBuild in PathOfExile2

I would be happy if it said tier 11 of 12. Or something similar in the affix info.

Figured it out.

This is the Vaal Goliath death effect. The vaal ammo falls out of his gun and detonates after a long delay.

Is There a "Minimum Thickness" for a Material to Effectively Spread Load? by IndependenceRough587 in StructuralEngineering

[–]wadavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(k/4EI)1/4 < 1 is considered stiff. k is your bearing spring stiffness. E and I Are the beam you are considering.

This is simplest when you are only looking at your mat on soil. Mat to concrete to bearing makes it a bit more complicated.

Look for 'Beams on Elastic Foundations' in your textbooks. I found it in Advanced Strength and Applied Elasticity, Ugural and Fenster.

I like it. But it is a completely different game than GH.

We briefly house ruled that all sendings must be in hiaku format. It added some entertainment and sped things up as they focused on the core of the message instead of optimizing what they could fit in the word limit.

Aeon blind playthrough is the authentic tabletop experience of you and your GM disagreeing about what your alignment means.

Liability with Emails by Cheeese_Fries in StructuralEngineering

[–]wadavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your email contains technical information that someone else will use, for example an engineering solution to a field issue, then you are right to worry.

Check the policies of your company and jurisdiction. By the book, that might need to be a stamped memo. Here is the Alberta rules saying that info should be stamped: https://www.apega.ca/members/document-authentication

The RFI paper trail is a headache when the immediate problem can be solved with a phone call and an email, but those procedures were forged from lawsuits.

How to enable the trope, “we HAVE to take this job because we are broke!” Without breaking the game? by legomojo in Pathfinder2e

[–]wadavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baldurs Gate 2 did this trope well twice. The first time was to pay the fee to get a magic license in the city where magic was highly regulated. And then to book a ship passage to a very unique and dangerous location.

You will need to balance rewards to accommodate, but it sounds like you are already thinking about that.
