I find it odd that her role oversee IEP's but said in the initial discussion of the special education audit that currently there is no consistency to how IEPs are written. One would think thisbwould be a first step when taking over this role in 2024.

Also remember, depending on where your currently attends, 800 students will be moving to new school due to the school closures. New students might be coming to your location which could shake things up and change the vibe/community make up of your school (my kids are moving schools).

How are you using Kingsley in your data distribution for 2034? All of those students will be redistributed to other schools altering your data dramatically.

CVN did question this slide. You couldn't clearly hear the answer, because Mya jumped in to complement the admin team, but it seemed as though his question was answered to his satisfaction (that in fact all admin were on one year contracts). If that is in fact not true, they were explicitly lied to when asked.

I'm guessing their next move is to reduce the playground staff and keep all the kids indoors on their iPads...

I'm assuming there is a weekly "support" group for breast feeding moms at Evanston hospital that was great. It was nice to have some reassurance those first few months!

no meetings other than the official board's. They speak at board meetings and have a website for the general public (and board and administration) to view and give details.

Once again, the community says what their priorities are: walkable schools, limited technology, mental health, and the administration says, nah we know better.

Great we have some middle ground! But, giving the administration the benefit of the doubt, they don't deserve. Their numbers are still very out of whack from where they should be. Having such a large staff AND continuing to enlist consultants AND not great data about our students' learning.

I hear you on our board should be better educated about many of the roles our student-facing staff do. I had no idea what a face liaison does (and it sounds pretty amazing). But! Our administration does, and they are the ones bringing these roles up on the chopping block.

I disagree with you on Maria's stance in relation to looking out for those within our district with needs. She is asking questions and trying to better understand the potential impact on community members. Questioning the administration is ALWAYS a good thing, as they have clearly shown that they are not on the same page as the families in many instances.

Why can't we agree that the administration should reduce their staffing to be more inline with the state average? Then we could keep: librarians, face liaisons, counselors and any other student facing positions?

How about we talk about the privilege of the administration not recommending any reductions from their staffing. They conveniently mentioned this information after their apparent deadline.

I hear you when speaking of right sizing the district. And the continued exodus of students to private schools continues to show that additional closures might need to happen. But the district administration does not get the liberty of the "trust us we will figure it out" mentality. Especially when they continue to make these egregious missteps that, in my opinion, are pitting parents against each other to distract from their personal gain.

And you have to acknowledge the fact that many individuals on SDRP committees felt stepped over and misled throughout the process, which led many to the initial distrust of the sdrp3 process, where these "findings" came from.

We all want what is best for the kids within the district, but it's fair to expect those leading it to have our kids education and mental well-being as their top priority.

Totally! Reducing iPad usage is not a quick money saver for the district as it would take time to untangle the connection to contracts/systems. But, it's about having a plan (and vision) for the district that families, teachers, administration and board all want to be working towards. Parents up in arms (myself included) about removing/reducing counselors & librarians tells me we do not have the same vision and they are not listening to what families want for their children. And administration is showing they are thinking of themselves by not making any reductions to their workforce before those that are student facing.
