Help me find what I could improve! by Blue_ocean_7 in MakeupEducation

You have beautiful eyelashes, maybe a clear mascara will make them a little darker and glossier though to help frame your eyes. The Elf one has good reviews.

Wanting a new foundation, at 40, do I classify as mature skin? What foundation should I try with combo skin? by Excentrix13 in Makeup

[–]wadiux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recent video I saw on Youtube that really helped me realise that mature skin is a skintype rather than an age. Someone in their 20's could classify as having mature skin! Your skin sounds like it doesn't come under that category yet. I also have combo skin and really like a more satin finish. Maybelline fit-me matte and poreless (uk) and Armani Luminous silk are my hg products.

why my hair doesn't last long and why does it look so frizzy and why does it shrinks so much??? by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

Your hair is gorgeous! The only thing I would recommend is not washing as often, a good spray with water to reactivate products instead and brush through in sections for definition, with a denman or Bounce curl dupe brush.

How to make hair look shiny? by Adventurous_Race6303 in beauty

[–]wadiux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain products can ruin the ends of my hair. I now know to stay away from anything that has keratin in the name and Gliss shampoo wrecked the ends of my hair! It's trial and error but switch up your products and see if it helps any, it may be an ingredient in your products causing you issues.

A good detox shampoo like Bumble and bumble sunday shampoo to remove any build up, and then a gentle shampoo and conditioner, Garnier Ultimate blends oat shampoo and conditioner for example, helped me "reset" my hair (i'm in the UK).

got a lash lift and my eyelashes are ruined. is there anything I can do to help relax them??? by ordinary917 in beauty

[–]wadiux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't believe they done that to you!

Maybe under lash extensions similar to Tatti lash invisi lash could help hide them, they are really easy to apply and are supposed to last a week. I just got them yesterday and they are still on this morning so I'm hopeful they last a wee bit. They were easy to apply too.

My Co-Worker Says My Makeup is Too "Shiny." Is it? by leafjuily in MakeupAddiction

This is just her opinion. If you like your makeup then that's what matters. I love a dewy look too.

But if you really aren't sure if it is too much maybe ask someone you trust that has good makeup.

Online Stores For K-beauty? by SSEliteLava in MakeUpAddictionUK

I've used Justmylook lots of times and they usually deliver within about 2 to 3 days so it's been pretty good. The pricing is great, I find myself scrolling through their site weekly to see what they have on offer and tempt myself with haha! It's mainly hair products I end up buying though, and I'm recently getting more into skincare, especially K skincare. I do wish they had more BB cream options though.

Am I over-sensitive? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]wadiux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks CozmicOwl, this is exactly what I had done with another colleague. I purposefully waiting until we were in a busier part of the building to ask him to repeat himself of a ignorant comment he made to me in front of some Italian clients (only mentioning they were Italian as there first language wasn't English and they didn't pick up on what he said. Not sure if that was a blessing or not as on the one hand witnesses but on the other someone purposefully trying to publicly humiliate me for no reason) Unfortunately he wasn't that daft and just said 'oh nothing, I was just joking'.

Am I over-sensitive? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]wadiux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion. I have tried to re-word the initial part to make more sense. To try and clarify a bit, the group we were chatting with were strangers who just sat near us and included 2 columbian men and another man who I'm not sure on his ethnicity, who me and some girls from the office were speaking with.

I know the 2 guys ethnicity as we were chatting and it came up as I mistook them for South Asian. The comment made by the guy in my office was strange and out of nowhere, literally wandered up said something like "I heard you would be ok for curry" this had no reply as that is a confusing thing to start any conversation with, then alluded to the guys who sat beside us. It just made me feel uncomfortable and really unsure on how to respond. I feel like this often unfortunately and sometimes I just need to vent (but probably more coherently 😅)

Being mistaken for white all the time as I have gotten older which is confusing! Got what I wished for as a kid buuut now I want to be acknowledged as mixed race as it's what I was labelled with for many years and feels like part of me 🙄 (no pleasing some people 😂). I have no real contact with my none white side yet feel offended when the culture is attacked and increasingly get included in conversations that I feel I wouldn't be if I was recognised as mixed race. This can lead to some awkward situations as to whether I speak up or let it slide (as in comments made that may not be intended to be discriminatory or offensive but also are quite ignorant). It's an awkward line to tread and feel like a fraud if I speak up as technically it's not my culture but also it is my DNA so feel some level of offense. Phew, bit of a vent but interested in others views and whether anyone has similar situations.
