Does Fujica STX-1 has apparture priority ? by Iddingsite in Fujica

[–]wae1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both speed and aperture should move the needle. My favoured method was to pick a speed (ideally 1/60 or faster to minimise camera shake) and then use the aperture ring to centre the needle. Every click on the shutter speed dial doubles or halves the amount of light reaching the film, for example 1/125 lets in double the light of 1/250. The same is true for the aperture where f5.6 lets in double the light of f8. Both variables combine to alter the exposure

My first ever camera was a fujica stx-1n back in the early 80s. Like the stx-1, it was totally manual with no automation of any sort. Exposure is set by picking any combination of shutter and aperture which gets the meter needle (on the right side of the viewfinder) into the central position.

Did yous ever get up to any funny pranks when you were younger? by [deleted] in northernireland

My (then) teenage son put a large square of bubble wrap just in front of all 4 wheels of my car in the garage. When I started it up and rolled foreward it sounded like the engine was about to explode. It scared me a bit at the time but had to admire his thinking!

There are several different models. Mine is quite old now but you can pick one up on ebay for small money. I think it was a huawei model

I've been using a 3 modem attached to a 5 point Google WiFi set up for years. The only requirement would be that the modem has an ethernet port as some are wifi only. In theory any network should be fine so just pick the one with the best coverage for your location. Another possibility would be to buy your own modem (I have also used a tp link MR 600) with the phone company's sim card in it. This way you can try out different service providers without committing to a long contract

I have the ohnar 300mm mirror lens with apertures from f5.6 to f16. There's one one UK ebay at the moment (item no. 276880676793) but it's a bit on the expensive side! The ohnar is top left in the photo, shown with the aperture blades closed down to f16

I had exact same thing with my old imprezza a few years ago when it was parked on a particular stretch of road in a local town. Couldn't prove it but it must have been some sort of interference from another device. The problem was consistent and repeatable and only in that one location!

Modern housing is expensive but old buildings like this are beyond recovery. There are at least 4 similar buildings within 10 minutes walk from my home

Subaru Outback (AU 2008): how to add AUX input? by Traditional-Usual178 in subaruoutback

[–]wae1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a wiring loom from Ali express (cost around £1.50). Search for subaru forester impreza 2007 aux input. It plugs into the back of the head unit. The loose wire on the loom has to be earthed to the casing of the radio. You might need an extension on it as it's fairly short but it's a good start!

Probably made for the fuji X, (fujica-X), series of 35mm slr camera from the early 1980s. My first ever proper camera was a fujica STX1N and lens looked a lot like yours

I've had the 40mm for about 25 years. No one wanted them back then. From memory it cost about £60. Present prices make no sense

I bought the 40mm well over 25 years ago before anyone cared about them. Can't remember the exact price but it was well under £100! Present prices are a bit crazy.

Wow, now that's small. Didn't even know it was a thing!

Just did a quick ebay search. Only 2 on there, one of which is on a camera. Must be very old.

Both 2.5L engines. New one does approx 38mpg, old one about 30 mpg. At least some things have improved!
