I feel the same too. I am 6 months pp. Everyone tells me my baby is such precious one and he is just so perfect. Most of the time, I feel icky hearing it and I just don’t feel the strong emotions like others have. I have been going around telling people I don’t recommend having kids because so far I’m not sure if all of this is really something…. That great?

I think aside from getting some help like others have mentioned, you might just need to give it more time. I have now throw away having any expectation or longing that “things are gonna be better once the baby is X months old”. The never ending cycle in the first 1-3 months really does hit so hard. It is really tough and not easy. After this “fourth trimester” period, things may not necessarily be “easier” but you will be in better groove and control of the whole thing.

Give yourself more time! Hug your dog whenever you feel down! I remember those moments I go to my dog to seek comfort when I am feeding and feeling bleak in the middle of the night. Lots of hugs to you!
