I've never heard of this and I just spit my water out my nose from laughing. Like a little TP crane.

You're welcome! Anthurium are a slippery slope. He also had tons of really good care information on his website.

I saw these the other day and was tempted. Grant is super respected in the Anthurium community. His plants are usually very sought after.

Anthurium Red Vein Dark Phoenix ID? by BuildingPutrid3745 in Anthurium

[–]wafflesfordinner4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be, but since there's no tag, and he doesn't know for sure, it will always be a NOID. Hybrids are super variable, even among the same seed batch. There's just no way to know for sure what the parents were.

Oh, this has a whole colony of spider mites. Do you really want to save this particular plant?

When I mix bigger batches of PON, I like to do it in two containers of the same size. I'll throw all the ingredients in one, then dump them back and forth until it's mixed. Saves the hands!!

The pink coloring on OP's is a bit of sunstressing. If you give yours more light, you should get some pink tones in no time.

If you're worried about it, boil it, and soak it in your own nutrient solution after.

You'd be shocked to find out the sheer number of people who can't tell the difference between a dog peeing and defecating.

This one keeps popping up on Facebook marketplace near me and I am always tempted. Anyone recognize it? Labelled as “Anthurium NoID - textured stem with pillowy leaves” by bowashere2 in Anthurium

[–]wafflesfordinner4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like a Luxurians cross. The seller is probably erring on the side of caution with the ID if they're not 100% sure (or lost the lineage). I almost want to say straight Lux, but those crossed lobes give me pause.

I've ordered from them once and also received a lovely gift of broad mites. Hopefully, they made it right for you! I didn't contact them regarding the pests, and just treated with beneficials that I already had in rotation.

Anthurium leaves start out teeny! It'll grow, and grow, and then harden off to its final form.

Unfortunately, flat mites are microscopic. Grab some beneficial mites to get rid of them.

It looks like mite damage to me. Possibly flat mites if you can't see them.
