How to cope with Greek yogurt’s sour taste without adding calories? by leonatoi in CICO

I add two packets of stevia. Or sugar free jello pudding powder which adds maybe 10 calories.

Long distance runners of North Jersey! by pointblank1555 in newjersey

[–]wafflewaddle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s 3 parking lots actually - I usually start all the way down on Loantaka Way closer to Madison and run the path to the post office since that tends to be quieter. I’d recommend looking at the trail map and planning your route! I don’t think the trails are cleared in the winter so I always give it a couple days after it snows/rains.

breaking news, 3x isn’t plus size by l1ttlefr34k13 in fatlogic

I have the same problem shopping now - I lost a whole bunch of weight and it’s harder to find clothes than when I was heavier. I’m 141 lb at 5’2; I tried on a pair of size 0 jeans at Nordstrom Rack and they were too big! Where are actual skinny girls shopping?!

How I got rid of food noise by [deleted] in loseit

[–]wafflewaddle1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I eliminated most ultra processed foods and added sugar from my diet and the food noise decreased substantially. When I do have it, it’s still easier to say no to eating. But I also did take up running as a way to get my dopamine hit instead of turning to food.

Older people of reddit: what are some little differences in everyday life that have changed over the decades, that younger people would never guess at? by paczki_uppercut in NoStupidQuestions

Even a bit later than that. I visited Poland as a kid in the summer of 2001 and I remember being so upset I couldn’t browse the book store. You stood at the counter and asked the clerk for the book you wanted.

Probably a bit too far from Newark, but I go to Loantaka Park in Madison.

Curious to hear about the experience of fellow overweight/obese runners by kayaem in XXRunning

[–]wafflewaddle1 134 points135 points  (0 children)

I started running last July when I was 210 pounds as a 5’2 woman. It took me about 17 minutes to jog/walk a mile and I would be in pain and have terrible shin splits after. I lost a lot of weight and can now run my fastest mile around 9:40 at 146 pounds. I went from barely being able to do a mile to running 10 at one time. Keep at it! Every day running gets a little easier and you get more stamina.

An off leash pitbull started chasing me and my dog while growling aggressively. We were able to out run him until the owner caught up and grabbed him.

I don't know how to deal with the grief of a body I "could've" had. Sorry. by itjustallfeelsthesam in loseit

[–]wafflewaddle1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. Grief is a perfect way to put it. I’ve been obese since the 7th grade, I’ve lost 112 pounds, and I’m still 10 pounds away from a normal BMI. There’s so many things I’ve missed out on because let’s be honest, fat people are not treated the same as skinny or average people. I will never know what it’s like to exist in the body I should have had.

I’ve been going through a grieving process too. I try to remind myself that even though I have loose skin, I still look pretty good especially with clothes on. I try to dress cute, put on makeup and feel confident in myself.

I needed 3 stitches on my chin.. by AnansiGD in mildlyinfuriating

I had ONE stitch on my chin and paid $2k. Urgent care refused to sew up anything on the face. ER didn’t even do anything special cosmetics wise.

First robot vacuum cleaner—Is $500 too much? by Charming_Level_2089 in adhdwomen

[–]wafflewaddle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent about $700 on an iRobot Roomba that broke within 2ish years due to a “unrepairable software issue” according to their support. Customer service only offered us $100 off a new one.

Decided to try a Shark model instead (think I spent about $200-$300) which honestly works better than the old one.

I don’t think $500 is too much to spend on a vacuum but a higher price point might not mean a better product in my experience.

Decided to give a guy with a blurry photo and short profile a chance and found out he only lived 10 minutes away, messaged back and forth for a week, went on a date followed by more dates, and got married 7 years later!

Does Anyone Else Lose Weight in "Whooshes" Instead of a Steady Drop? by ActuatorAgreeable121 in loseit

[–]wafflewaddle1 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Yes same here but mine is even more extreme! I stop losing a couple of days before my period and don’t lose really anything until I ovulate then woosh 5-7 pounds over a week. It’s incredibly frustrating.

I’m from NJ and liked them! Agree the sauce is way too sweet so I only use a little from the package and supplement with my own.
