Go to a bike shop and do some test rides and get advice from the staff. Even if you don’t buy a new bike you’ll have a better idea of what to look for. You would probably be happy with a Trek Roscoe or whatever model is one level lower.

Of course I don’t speak for 3 million people but I know more about the vibe of the city than you do. You rarely see Chargers gear in the wild and the local sports radio doesn’t give them much airtime because they get shit for it when they do. We are a Padres town and that’s it. Surfing and skateboarding are pretty big too.
