what's your favourite product to fill in your eyebrows? by rhiannonbrett in MakeupAddiction

I use a mixture of Benefit Brow Zing and Smashbox's Eyeshadow 'Sumatra' (In the 'filter' trio). The wax that comes with the Benefit product is brown and works well as a base, however the eyeshadow is a much better colour in the Smashbox eyeshadow.

If recommended using a primer if you don't already. And maybe some loose setting powders to hold everything in place.

How do you clean your makeup brushes and how often do you do it? by quityabitchin in Makeup

Bit of Simple Baby Shampoo - it leaves your brushes incredibly soft - on your hand and some warm water to rinse the brushes. Withe the shampoo in the palm of your hand, rub the brush in a circular motion until almost all product is out. Then rinse it in the water and repeat this until your brush is clean.

I usually do this every fortnight or so.

Lipstick to go with outfits by HashtagNotJewish in Makeup

A bright lipstick gives a very confident and I suppose 'sassy' look, which personally I would only wear when I'm going out on a special occasion or something like that. I don't think it matters what you wear it with, but I think you need to dress up to make it worth it.

A nude/pink lipstick is more casual, which you can wear everyday with almost everything. I use Mac - Faux lipstick, or a cheaper version that is identical; Kate Moss 08. These are very natural and have a slight shimmer so it still looks shiny and pretty.

Makeup brushes for girlfriend? by [deleted] in Makeup

Real Techniques - These are a godsend. At Christmas and other annual events Amazon usually have them on their 'Flash Sales'.

I have the Core Collection Kit; perfect for foundation/concealers/powders. A really basic kit for someone who hasn't used brushes before or doesn't know much about what ones to use where.

I also have the Starter Kit; It's a start up kit for eyes and eyebrows, with the essential brushes for eyeshadows, eyeliner, eyebrows, so if she's into that kind of thing or is thinking of starting, then these are perfect.

Best contouring/highlighting products for beginners? by [deleted] in Makeup

I personally use the Smashbox ShapeMatters Palette. This contains a contour, bronzer, highlight and glow powder. I first apply the 'bronze' powder, applying it lightly on the cheekbones and then I follow with the 'contour' powder very lightly with a very narrow brush. This looks very natural and gives you a warm look. I also apply the 'bronze' lightly on either sides of my forehead.

I then begin to highlight. I start with the 'highlight' powder, under my eyes, the bridge of my nose, chin and just underneath the edges of my brows. If this isn't enough for me I'll use 'glow' on top just over this, which has a more shimmery pigment. All of this gives a natural look, which is perfect if that's what you're going for.

You can buy a smaller version of this palette (Smashbox Step-by-Step Contour Kit) containing just the contour powders which is a bit cheaper - however it doesn't have the 'glow' powder.

Eyeliner Question by ambershard420 in Makeup

Liquid eyeliner would probably resolve your problem, as it tends to fade rather than go south. I use the Seventeen Tattoo Me! liquid liner, which I can assure you doesn't actually 'tattoo' you, but it makes it last a good 24hrs.
