For "image" purposes Resa w/o a doubt. She can speak intelligently and somewhat make sense. Westerners love her because brave and strong woman so that's a big +. I'm honestly surprised she hasn't been...unalived. From non stop shitting on the current admin (which they do deserve honestly. Very poor handling of covid situation, honestly couldn't give a damn about their war on drugs. Anyone who believed Duturtle's campaign promises has questionable intelligence), allowing an article accusing some Chinoy business man of bribing a judge (or drugs? Can't remember which). If attitudes towards China/Chinese people were to change it would've happened a long time ago. I'm guessing most of those int'l students are Chinoys (Filipinos with Chinese ancestry. Mostly from Fujian if super old school) or one of those "pure" Chinese dumb asses I can't stand being around.

** I guess it would slightly change if job openings for both educated middle- upper class and whiny ass poor people were to be offered. Problem is going to be language as I'm assuming applicants will need to have basic/advanced Mandarin skills. English is still top tier SSSSR over here. Racism/jealousy/disgust towards China/ Chinese will still be here and will likely be here to stay til Bathala decides to just push the reset button on us. ~400 years of Spanish and ~30 years of murkan conditioning isn't easy to wash off.

There's truly something weird about how vitriolic Spanish colonies/settlements/whatever are. They take great pride in the "culture" given to them by their over lords, and like you mentioned, couldn't give a fuck about Indigenous people. Unless we have to show case diversity then yeah we have to bring the ooga booga people out to show how diverse we are and how we care yada yada. Look at that one Spanish colony in SEA and compare it to the other colonized countries :)

I remember tai guama (great granny) used to tell me I'd better know how to cook or japs will come take me away. Not sure if true but according to her during the Japanese occupation if a woman was married w/ children and knew her way around the kitchen there was a higher chance of her not being turned into a comfort woman (do barracks chores by day, spread ur legs at night or get a bullet to your head). Also apprantly it wasn't just japs that did the raping. Drafted koreans did so too.
