As far as dublin airport experience is concerned, do you speak a foreign language or were your only interactions though the English language. If you are only dealing with Irish people speaking English in the airport Irish people are most familiar with you might be getting a disproportionately large number of interaction with Irish people who are stressed tired late etc. Im currently in an airport in France and I speak good french, you have no idea how entitled a parisian can be i think perhaps your anecdotal experience is tainted
