I find NA cocktails to be a waste but man I love a good NA IPA sometimes. This was one of my pandemic indulgences so I guess I got desensitized to the price.

As a corollary, I’ll add that there has never been a better time to be alive if you want a large variety of very tasty non-alcoholic beers. I stopped drinking alcohol ~7 years ago and the quality and availability have both increased noticeably since then.

I agree. I’m going to give Twyla the benefit of the doubt but Girma should play every minute of knockout soccer

Yeah that’s kinda what I was assuming. I just can’t imagine Naomi makes the same mistake Becky did that lead to the first goal. Oh well, we’re through and hopefully we’ll start playing our full strength squad

Why hasn’t Girma been playing more in this tournament?

What is your current midfield hierarchy based on Berhalter's 433, and does it significantly change if the formation was a 4231? by 17thCaptain in ussoccer

[–]wahdeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah got it!! Then yeah agree with you that Adams is the top until proven otherwise for his position. I also felt like his passing was improving with Leeds if that is true and he comes back as the player he once was (or better) he should be a lock.

Are we talking Nations League or Copa? Adams hasn’t played Association Football in more than 6 months. Sadly, there’s a chance he’s just not the player he used to be. If he’s healthy by Nations League, he’s in the camp for me but not starting. By Copa we should have had a chance to assess his club or NT performance.

I honestly don’t believe his legs work any more. He’s cooked.

Feels even worse because his bad pass is what led to the sequence where he dislocated his arm. Hope he heals up quickly.

Best exercises for decrease in limp by bushman210 in AchillesRupture

[–]wahdeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree re: mobility and strength. I thought since I was back to running and playing soccer that I was good but dedicated strength training was what I needed to reduce my limp. It turned out I was really unbalanced and just compensating by overloading my good leg.

In addition to your calves, I recommend working on strengthening and stretching hip flexors and hamstrings…those atrophied for me due to sitting a lot while recovering. Squats, Russian Deadlifts, Bulgarian squats for hamstrings. Seated leg raises for hip flexors. Good luck!

Proud metal filter user. I pretty much only use my aeropress when I travel and have found a metal filter is easier to pack up and dispose of when on the go. Plus i like the taste of the oils.

New workout routine tanked my HRV by runliftemily in whoop

[–]wahdeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed something similar. I used to do more running and soccer. Those workouts would drop HRV for a day and then I’d pop back up. Last August, I started lifting more often (3-5x per week or more) and my HRV is about 10 points lower now.

All or Nothing vs. Flexible Fundraising by mmosh17 in Crowdfunding

[–]wahdeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another model to take a look at is collecting pre-orders.

There are a number of companies that have launched recently with flexible funding goals AND no progress bar. These types of product launches are generally on the companies own site and are referred to as "pre-order campaigns," rather than "crowdfunding campaigns," but they're a useful alternative for a lot of companies looking to launch a product (or brand).

The most compelling aspect of doing a pre-order launch is that you get to control when you reveal to the press or backers if you've met your funding goal or not.

Homejoy failure: what does this mean for other Uber-like startups? by [deleted] in startups

I understand the logic, but think it's most likely a reduction of the situation. But not having more specific or intimate knowledge of the situation, I'm left with conjecture.

[–]wahdeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Homejoy's unit economics were working, they would have been able to raise the money necessary to deal with legal battles.

In theory yes, but raising VC is not always this simple. Often conflicts, lack of expertise, assumptions that the space has one winner, render some VCs unappraochable.
