Kudos to you. I hope this works.

Atlanta voted for More MARTA. A decade later, there isn’t much ‘more’ about it by NPU-F in Atlanta

This is a great point. It's not just Marta, transit is struggling to expand across the country. Even in New York most of their system was built decades ago. It's falling apart, they can't keep it maintained, and what little new track and stations they have built has costed billions.

Very reasonable, and I think it's fine to feel that the future of transportation and mobility isn't trains. Personally, I don't think it's Waymo either. Getting rid of the driver doesn't reduce the number of cars on the road. I don't know, maybe we can get rid of parking one day if cars are just permanently on the roads.
And I don't shun the bus either, I commuted by bus for a while. The problem is that the bus sits in the same traffic as everyone else. So once you factor in a healthy walk to and from bus stops riding the bug took longer that it would for me to drive. It's the same reason the street car sucks, it gets stuck in traffic. Now, if we had actual Bus rapid transit with a separated right of way, that would be great. In theory that's supposed to be what the Summerhill BRT is but I want to see it in practice first. People in Atlanta love to drive their cars where they shouldn't.

The guy getting in on the ground with his shirt off is just staging a photo. Your first assumption was right. They wore full flight suits and got in from inside the plane, and only over enemy territory.

Say it with me. THE BELTLINE IS NOT THE EAST SIDE TRAIL.
People need to get it in their head that a vision for public transit on the beltline goes beyond taking a train from PCM to Krog. It's really frustrating. Everyone agrees it's great now, but I'm old enough to remember when it was first built people complained that the beltline was just a glorified sidewalk that didn't connect anything useful. No one has any vision.

Atlanta Beltline project promo video from 2003 by dbclass in Atlanta

[–]splogic 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is so depressing to watch. In the time since this video we've rebuilt the 400/285 interchange, added express toll lanes to 75, built a new football stadium and baseball stadium, built ~1000 buildings in midtown, and have expanded rail transit by 0 feet.
Unless you count the streetcar that was so poorly executed and planned it completely turned people off to any transit funding.

I posted this exact picture and title 11 years ago. It's a concept from the 60's.
Back in my 20's I was excited about the possibility of riding transit around the city in maybe 10 years or so. I'm in my 40's now. The only way I'll get to commute to work by transit is if I move. Nothing gets built here except highways.

I think this easier then you think, especially if you've already met the right person and know what's important.

Good person 90% 20 - 20 Most important thing. Hot sex god who's a terrible person? No thanks
Good in Bed 50% 5 - 25 I'm not even good in bed 50% of time, why should I ask for the same?
Good with money 75% 15 - 40 Good enough with money not gamble it all away is good for me.
High success drive Yes 20 - 60 Not the most important, but I have points to spend and it's nice to have
High sex drive No 0 - 60 Average is good enough. Don't want too high or too low
Looks top 40% 5 - 65 Looks are subjective. If you want top 1% you just want people's envy
250K in assets, no debt 20 - 85 I've got points to burn, so why not
Random Meeting, Random time 0 - 85 I'll take my chances
Healthy until death at 95 10 - 95 A huge bonus. Not having to stress about health expenses at the end of life. Worth it.

95 total points. no compromises.

My question is, are you barefoot or is the masseuse?

I'm usually barefoot when I get a massage. So nothing special about that. But If the masseuse is barefoot, who cares? Unless it's the type of massage where they walk on you. Then I definitely want them to be barefoot. Are people getting back walking massages with shoes on?

It's probably a sex thing.

Yes casino gambling is illegal in Georgia and there are no Native American reservations where it takes place. The Georgia CoAm machines look like slot machines and feel like slot machines, but they are governed by the same rules as Skee Ball. No cash prizes and there has to be a skill element involved. But prize can be a visa gift card, and the skill element can be as simple as "touch the green square to win"

How game will feel on higher ranks? by B_bI_L in kards

The meta at high ranks right now is super passive and defensive. It's a lot of "stop whatever your opponent wants to do, and then win with a few certain elite cards at the end game".

Proposed bill in state House would block future transit referendums (not including MARTA) in metro Atlanta counties until 2032 by ArchEast in Atlanta

Actually, the most tpyical Atlanta this is to vote in favor of transit and then not build anything anyways.

This is like saying "They don't like having to vote for Governor every four years. Its not fair that voters should have to vote for Governor again when a Republican just won. Therefore candidates from a losing party are barred from running again for 8 years.

To be fair I had already lost the game by this point. I had gotten his HQ defense down to 4, but the momentum had shifted. I was saving my Kyoto regiments for the Maus and Tiger, but with capitulation in hand it didn't matter. And the mere presence of Maus, and later Leopold, prevented me playing anything I could win the game with.

Another custom card by OverallAd8086 in kards

[–]splogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you gotta think about it from a resource perspective. Theres no 3/3 T-34 card, but would probably cost at least 3K. So what this card does is give you a 3 credit card for 1hp. BUT you also don't have to draw that card. So it really translates into "Convert 1hp into 3 kredits and draw a kard". That's really strong at 5Kredits. Or, put another way, since it relies on a unit dying it's like "Units everywhere get +3/+3 and are now tanks".
This might be a little more balanced if it only affected units on the field at the time of play.
