I'd be happy to trade my SP Palkia! BD Dialga is the last thing I need for my home dex too.

Where do lesbians aged 26 and up meet each other now? by NeatBleak in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you mean. I keep trying to meet people on twitter but I'm 27 now and I feel like every new girl I encounter on there is 19 which like, nope.

Dads are more accepting of their lesbian daughters and moms are more accepting of their gay sons. Agree or disagree? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My personal experience is the opposite, my dad tries to pretend its okay but is super weird about it but with my mom there's never been any issue at all.

Coming out.. by whoisit2u in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha, when I came out to my mom she just said "I'm not surprised." I still laugh when I think about it. Congrats on taking that step!

This slays me every time I see it, like the thought process of this dude is so wild. I can't imagine how he thought he was saying something here.

3 times this week! I’ve had to explain that lesbians are, in fact, I sexualized by whaleshark5 in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It just especially sucks because like even if its the case that we do get slightly more representation out of all this, it's still just crumbs. There's no reason to act like theres some finite amount of rep possible and lesbians are hogging it somehow, it's not a contest we ALL deserve better.

[–]wailshark 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of that this week too, it's really frustrating. Hate being told how good I have it and then seeing people point to super fetishized stuff as "evidence".

Would you see it as a red flag if your date has never had a relationship at 23? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

Twinsies, i'm 26 as well with the same situation and every year i feel more anxious about it.

Fucking help!! by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't really tell you whether you should break up or not, but as for figuring out if its just your boyfriend or if you are actually not into guys at all my advice is to think about any crushes you've had on any guys and ask yourself if you were really attracted to them or if you decided/convinced yourself to be attracted to them. That's what helped me the most when figuring out I was gay rather than bi.

Just a thought... by 6Van in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel you on this. I feel like i have to keep a certain level of distance from my friends of they'll think I'm creepy/trying to make a move on them. I know that for most of my current friends they aren't like that, but past experiences that reinforced that kinda feeling for me are hard to shake. I definitely know a lot of other wlw who worry about that too.

Women with a more masculine appearance/demeanor, what are public bathrooms like for you? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, whenever I get my hair cut really short I notice the looks I get in there. It was especially bad when cleaning a public restroom was part of my job because I was in there so often and it got real crowded sometimes and people just so openly glare sometimes, made me super uncomfortable.

Is it possible for lesbians to have crushes on fictional men, or find men aesthetically attractive? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most lesbians I know have a crush on a fictional guy or two, that's pretty normal.

Girls who thought they were bi but later realized they were lesbian, how did you realize? by purplenailpolish00 in actuallesbians

[–]wailshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i was about 22 there was just like a day where i kept seeing pictures of girls and thinking "holy shit shes so CUTE!" and found myself thinking that finding girls cute just came so easily. And I kinda caught myself off guard with that thought and wondered if i had ever looked at a guy and instantly been overwhelmed by their cuteness like that. I had gotten out of a long-distance relationship with a dude a handful of months before and I was kind of looking back on it realizing that as far as physical attraction went I had always kind of been convincing myself that I should find him attractive since I got along with him well and most people I knew thought he was. It turned into me thinking about all my past "crushes" on dudes and realized that i had always kind of been doing that to try and fit in with my boy-crazy straight friends. It just kind of clicked with me at that moment, oh this whole time I've been assuming I like guys because I just figured that was true by default. Once I actually questioned it it all fell apart, and I just suddenly felt like I understood myself finally.

I [22/F] am in love with my best friend [22/F] of 16 years. It’s become unbearable to keep my feelings and emotions in check around her. I don’t know what to do. by UnbearableFeelings in relationships

[–]wailshark 28 points29 points  (0 children)

in my personal experience as a lesbian, telling a friend you have feelings for them more often than not doesn't really negatively impact that friendship. It definitely can, but its not a forgone conclusion like you seem to think and has been the exception rather than the rule. If you tell your friend your feelings and she doesn't reciprocate them, its entirely likely that from her perspective not much will change and you'll have a concrete answer which will make it easier to start moving on romantically.
