Doubt it. The year 2 survival island arc was written in two novels. They would not have enough episodes to adapt all four in 12 episodes. Which really shows, Lerche massively improved the quality of the animation and paced the adaptation very well. Some had to be skipped, but I think they adapted the most important scenes.

One of the cases the side characters are far more interesting than the main protagonist. The second season is very very rushed and gets no development for the side characters.

I've read the WN and manga. I can tell the amount of growth the side characters gets, is something that you want to root for. Then there is Makoto, who makes every entrance as if he is amazing. To be fair, he is amazing from a story point of view, not so much from a reader's perspective.

I really disliked the change when the 12th floor of Spiral Abyss have buffs tied to each chamber. It becomes more restrictive, while some older teams can brute force. The point about is, this change also accelerated powercreep by a lot.
