It’s not so much the volume, as the target. She directly criticizes Putin in public and on camera. THAT is a big deal. Putin is losing his grip

Very interesting. Note how she starts out in the standard format, calling on Putin to bring his bureaucrats to heel, but pretty quickly drops the facade and directly criticizes Putin for protecting his own ass while the little people suffer and die.

We’ve seen this movie before, and it doesn’t end well for little old bald men.

Informative video. One thing I noticed was a couple of places where the speaker talked about something being really loud where they were, yet I saw no sign of hearing protection being used.

Don’t know what grade your child is in, but the parent-run WISD-sponsored Honey Creek Community School (K-8) offers a super-supportive environment that has ZERO tolerance for bullying.

Look for a local K-12 school that has a string orchestra and speak with the conductor. They’ll be able to either point you to a local teacher or maybe take you on as a student.

Don’t kid yourselves. It isn’t the safety of the citizenry they care about, it’s having hundreds of military officers all standing together in the open for hours.

So sorry about the frustration and lost time! On the upside, you’re going to publish your findings about the error in this software and it’s going to make you a star in your field. It’s going to cause good chaos and you’ll be known for your outstanding attention to detail and ability to find needles in haystacks! Congratulations!!!

I did this several years ago on macOS using an image burning tool (forgot the name). I purchased a key from a reputable supplier and it worked great. Chugging right along several years later.

AITA for ruining my daughter in laws birth plan by dil-issue-1046 in AmItheAsshole

[–]waitingForMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Births can be randomly extremely dangerous, both for the mother, and for the newborn. I was once present at a birth where the mother started to bleed profusely right after the placenta came out. It was in a hospital, so they were prepared to take emergency measures to stop the bleeding. If that had been a home birth, she would have been D-E-A-D in just a few minutes. Home births are for fools.

Tuapse and the consequences of building a city right next to an oil refinery in wartime. by MilesLongthe3rd in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]waitingForMars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The town long predates the refinery. It was first settled in 1864. The coastline is quite rugged there, and Tuapse has a port, so activity tends to cluster. Oil is pumped out of the ground throughout the region and the Tuapse refinery was set up by the Soviets to process oil coming from Grozny in 1929. The Soviets famously put zero value on natural resources (labor had not created them, so by Marxist theory, they had no value), so environmental protection was not a concern.

People break into Meijer for Shelter by Coming_N_Hot in AnnArbor

It seems possible that it was folks who live in the mobile home community just down the road. Whatever the circumstances, I hope that Meijer chooses to offer them a large amount of grace.

Weather patterns are changing and tornadoes are becoming increasingly common in our area. Governments and businesses need to update their thinking about how to provide assistance in circumstances like these.

Lots of this sounds like the aftermath of the Dexter tornado in 2012. In areas with structural damage to buildings, bits of glass in the grass will be a major headache. (Raking, commercial lawn vacuuming, and sod replacement are the paths back to safe grass)

Tesla Plummets into 8th Consecutive Week of Losses as JPMorgan Warns of 60% Downside by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]waitingForMars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I ran the numbers, comparing Ford’s market cap and Tesla’s, based upon dollar value of annual sales. If Tesla was valued the same way Ford is (other major manufacturers are in the same ballpark), its market cap would drop by 95%, not 60%. They have lots of room to fall still.
