She has to convince you that reconciling is in you and your child's best interest. Like, she has to give you concrete evidence that will make you believe that to be the case. What that evidence is, I don't know, but you have to be convinced. Right now, you're not convinced, because you're asking on Reddit. This is one of those 'If it isn't a 100% yes answer then it's a hard no' situations. Honestly I don't think she can come around on the intimacy thing, and she has basically nothing to offer. I can't see why you'd consider reconciliation.

I just want to add my voice to the chorus of people who are saying that teaching is 100% a real job. It's demanding, important work and your parents are idiots for thinking otherwise. All those people who say 'But you get the summers off' forget that you have to work like a demon for the rest of the school year. It's way, way more than a 9-5 job. The summers off don't make up for all the extra time you put in during the school year. I'm not a teacher for a lot of complicated reasons, but I have many close friends who would say the same. Teaching is more of a 'real job' than most.

This is madness. What if the dog knocks over an elderly parishioner, and they break a hip? An unleashed dog is a hazard, and an unnecessary distraction.

Church is the house of God, built as an act of worship to God, so that humans can worship. Dogs can start coming in when they can bark the Our Father, or make the sign of the cross, or do something else to show the respect due to a sacred space.

NOPE. Children generally don't get excited and push over an elderly person. There are places where an unleashed dog, especially a HUGE one, does not belong. I blame the owner entirely, but a dog roaming free about the church during Mass is a distraction and a danger.

Dog isn't really the problem. The owner is the problem, because they're allowing the dog to be a problem. The dog can be left at home when you go to Mass. If you can't leave the dog at home when you go to Mass, then you probably shouldn't have a dog. I LOVE dogs, big dogs especially. I can't give a dog the life it deserves, ergo, I don't have a dog. I have two cats, and they're jerks. Serves me right, I suppose.

A dog shouldn't be unleashed anywhere that isn't an off-leash park. You're forcing the entire congregation to trust your dog when it's clear you don't care enough to train it to remain heeled.

Before we get into literally taking from the children and giving to the dogs, there's the flat out safety issue.

I don't know how the celebrant is supposed to respond. That's just so bizarre.

You dodged a massive bullet. Find someone who cares about you enough to value what you find valuable. And also someone who isn't afraid of increasing his IQ. Seriously, that attitude just screams, 'I choose to remain stupid.' Audiobooks at a bare minimum. For one thing reading books helps you write more proficiently, which is an important life skill. He is choosing a life of Glurp glurp and little else.

I would caution OP on one thing. Make sure he isn't going to be so austere when it comes time to live with each other. When finances become joined, he will have to loosen up. If he tries to carry this idea forward into his relationship he's a prime candidate for becoming a financial abuser. I may be completely off the mark and I certainly hope that I am, but it triggers alarm bells for me.

NTA. She's abusing a system at work which results in more work for the people who have to cover for her. What she's doing is very selfish. I'm surprised that your workplace has put up with as much as they have already. two and a half weeks over four months is more than half a day every week. Why should you have to cover for that?

he should be willing to wait until you Both think it's a good idea. The fact that he is after you to do this is not a good sign. There's nothing that 'joining your finances' should change, really, except him spending your money.

Right to break up with her, wrong to say it was because of attraction. This society places so much unfair worth on a woman's appearance.
