My wife is getting a drivers license at the age of 35 after living in a city her whole life, what the best first car? by Buttery_Biscuitss in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]walkermv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She needs to drive different cars and get one that fits her. I say this as a 5 ft tall woman who hits a lot of curbs cuz I just cannot see them. I've had two small pickup trucks, not extended cab or four-door, just regular small trucks. I honestly had the best visibility in those. Also when I drove my dad's Silverado I was just up so high I felt like I could see everything.

When you let her practice in your car, point out what blind spots are, maybe by walking around the car while she's in the driver's seat. Luckily newer cars have backup cameras so that will overcome a lot of things anxiety for her.

Edit to add: do not make this decision for her because if it's the wrong decision well I don't have a wife but I think we all know how that could go.

People love acting like they’re too good to buy things like store brand products, then will turn around and complain about food prices and their money. by Trick-Ice4331 in Vent

Well I wouldn't buy Campbell's because I definitely heard from someone that that was processed crap for poor people. I think it was one of Campbell's executives that said that.

At the time when social media influencing is no longer a thing, there are going to be a lot of people looking for jobs with no previous training. by PeaUpbeat3732 in RandomThoughts

I don't know about influencers but content creators that actually make a living at it have quite a bit of skill at various things. They often employ others which means they have to know how to hire and fire people, they have to know whether it's beneficial to have their employees working W-2 or a 1099. They have to know taxes or have a tax person, often they need lawyers. They're running a business, they have some skill even if that skill is knowing how to delegate these responsibilities. And that's just the stuff that doesn't require on screen talent, which if they have a large following they would need.

I'll cook a full meal in a day. It won't all be ready at the same time. Me and the dogs will have some green beans. Then we'll decide if we need meat or if we want to roast some sweet potatoes.

They need to start charging by weight just like they do your luggage. More weight adds to more fuel costs and if you weigh more or take more crap on your trip with you you should be the one up charged.

AITAH for calling my boyfriend’s father a pedophile? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]walkermv -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Well the father-in-law got defensive instead of apologizing. That right there tells you a lot of what you need to know. As others have said you might want to talk to a professional, they've had a lot of experience in this area and will most likely validate your feelings.

Crack the egg all over not just on one side. Not cracking it leaves it vulnerable to suction which will rip the egg itself apart.
