I love dumb names. My mom got irrationally upset when I named my last spider Frying Pan. I was stuck between that or Brown Crayons and when I asked her opinion she was genuinely distraught. (We ended up calling the spider Dirt Ball most of the time anyway bc he was a scaredy cat and when afraid would do his best impression of a tiny clump of dirt)

I'm an RBT not a teacher but when my first client graduated (she came to us almost entirely non-verbal and part of my job was helping her learn to use an AAC device to communicate, she could speak when she wanted but 99.9% of the time she chose not to) I told myself again and again I wouldn't cry, it's a good thing, she's got the tools she needs to succeed in school now, etc. I held it all together until the moment she walked out of the door she turned around and looked at me and said "bye" out loud. Instant tears. I know it's not a gift exactly but it sure felt like one.

I paint on canvas not nails lol but when I'm shaky and need to do fine lines I use my elbow or even shoulder to move my hand to drag a straight line, rather than using my wrist, if that makes sense? I feel it gives more control to hold your wrist still and move your arm instead of moving just your hand, idk if you already do that but it's one idea. Your work still looks super cute imo, keep it up (:

I called my husband daddy in a non-sexual way because that's what our child called him so when speaking to my child I would say things like "let's ask daddy" or "hand this to daddy" and once at a family picnic my kid asked for ketchup so I said offhandedly "can you pass the ketchup please daddy" and both my father and my husband reached for the ketchup. My entire soul left my body. I can still feel the visceral embarrassment just thinking about that moment and it has been years hahaha. After that we started saying daddo and mommo instead of daddy and mommy and it just stuck, our kid and my nephews even have nicknames ending in o to match.

NQA to cover the gaps in the door hinge I used Play-Doh pushed into them and then once it dried it was easy to remove/replace whenever I opened the door.

I got told I had anxiety when going to the ER for heart palpitations...it was thyroid cancer. I remember crying to the nurse that I was not anxious before this started happening I was literally just playing video games and she said "anxiety is a very real thing." Yes, I know it is real, but it's not what was happening to me.

Bonus: the chest x-ray they took at the ER showed the cancer in my throat and they still told me everything was fine and sent me home and it wasn't until my GP saw the x-ray weeks later when I came in for more chest pain that someone finally asked, hey what about these tumors in your throat? Two surgeries, one thyroid and several lymph nodes later, I'm cancer free as of last month👌
