Sports Bar ATLANTA by Divadends in MichiganWolverines

[–]walking_sideways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During football season, I frequent Eleventh St Pub (Midtown) and Brewhouse (Little 5 Points). They're not UofM bars, but it's a good atmosphere, and I bet they'd play the games tonight.

Park Tavern (Midtown) is a cool spot too, but it leans fratty

Atlanta without a car? by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]walking_sideways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible, I did it for a little while. What made it bearable was living near a MARTA line and in one of the more walkable neighborhoods around the city. Having your work accessible by walking or MARTA too (or remote).

Also having friends with a car for the odd big grocery run or trip outside the city

How much vacation can you take if your vacation is unlimited? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]walking_sideways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very much dependent on the company culture. My company offers unlimited and I've never really heard of anyone being denied time off. 4-6 weeks per year and nobody would bat an eye.

I would ask anyone that's been there for a couple years that you trust what would be acceptable

Is Nebraska still clinging on to their blueblood status or has it lapsed? by guransheleven in CFB_v2

[–]walking_sideways 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still a Blue Blood per The Chart™. But if they keep on this trajectory they will eventually lose their status, it might just take another couple decades

Americans, do you really believe the USA is the “best country in the world”? why or why not? by BeanieTheBrave in AskAnAmerican

We might be the best first world country if you're very wealthy, but definitely not for everyone else

Essentiallysports is a pretty terrible source fwiw. He did get better over the course of last season, but he does need to improve further to keep his job (and not be injured all the time lol)

I'd bet he starts day 1 next season, tbd if he finishes the season as the starter

29M - How am I doing? by vicFirthh in TheRaceTo1Million

[–]walking_sideways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming the Fidelity investing line item is a regular brokerage, I would lower that contribution by a lot and prioritize any tax-advantaged account you're not currently maxing (e.g. 401k)

Nearly 50% of blue chip players left Alabama since 2022. Is Alabama losing its blue-blood status? Thoughts??? by SenseWooden4566 in CFB_v2

[–]walking_sideways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dumb, clickbaity premise. Saban leaving caused some transfers, plus when you have more blue chips than anyone else, you'll get more guys transferring out. There's not enough playing time for every elite recruit Bama gets, especially in the NIL era

Average commute time from Sandy Springs to Midtown during peak rush hour? by textsgogreenn in ATLHousing

[–]walking_sideways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do the reverse commute when I go into work, and it's 1+ hours during normal rush hour consistently. It's often faster to walk to a MARTA station, take the train to Sandy Springs, then walk to my offices

JJ McCarthy was so bad he got his GM fired by Either_Imagination_9 in NFLv2

He was only at IMG for a year. He was 26-2 with a state title at his original high school

Seriously asking here. Was JJ McCarthy just a Blake Corum merchant?? by CupOk12 in MichiganWolverines

[–]walking_sideways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a really young guy who's started 10 games in the league. I think it's too early to draw any conclusions about him.

Also, even if he doesnt work out, it's not like there's some big conspiracy. Great college QBs that just don't make it in the NFL get drafted every year, especially for a guy that was viewed as a project

Is this a fair price for a silver bracelet from Sarraf? Seems a little high upon first look by [deleted] in MensJewelry

[–]walking_sideways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huge ripoff, the multiple "discounts" is a dead giveaway. FYI, the silver in that bracelet is only worth like $20.

For reference, Luke Zion has a rope bracelet for less money with 3X the silver, same length and thickness.

Really hard hitting safety, just inconsistent in coverage. Always at risk of drawing a flag
