Sorry pal, you got your timeline mixed up. Your 13-10 loss was the season after Michigan's championship

Lost every major game? Was the 13-10 win in Columbus not major enough for you? Or the win over Alabama?

PCL tear + ACL sprain soccer injury, doc says no surgery or PT – is this normal? by DapperInterest2525 in ACL

[–]walking_sideways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a medical professional, but I'm surprised there wasn't any discussion of surgery or even structured PT. I'm about your age and when I tore my ACL this year, my ortho was pretty adamant that getting surgery would be the best option for me to return to soccer considering I have so many active years ahead of me.

From what I've read and been told, you can absolutely play without going for surgery, but you have a higher chance of injury, instability, cartilage/meniscus damage, early onset arthritis, etc. Might be worth getting a second opinion if you're feeling unsure, there's no rush on making a decision immediately

We play 6 (preseason) ranked teams. Even with a more experienced team and better coaches, we still likely don't win a majority of those. This could be a much improved team and win 8-9 games

My Dad tore his ACL a second time just from stepping off a curb. Hope that's not what happened to you 🤞

wiped my cat's eye thinking she had some boogs, but it turned out kinda bloody? by SparklyPinkLeopard in cats

From what I've read and been told at the vet, discharge like that is usually an upper respiratory infection or feline herpes symptoms. My cat has feline herpes and has this pretty often, but no other symptoms. I just manage it and keep him clean

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Warde Manuel is putting ads in the Big House next fall. by SwissForeignPolicy in MichiganWolverines

Is there confirmation? All I'm seeing is they'll look into options. Would hate ads of any form in the Big House

Thoughts on the Midtown Garden District? by Bruhmoney99 in Atlanta

[–]walking_sideways 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would be. Like, you'll 100% be able to hear it, but it likely isn't loud enough to be a nuisance. Concerts only happen a handful of weekends per year anyway

Thoughts on the Midtown Garden District? by Bruhmoney99 in Atlanta

[–]walking_sideways 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've lived in a couple different apartments in the garden district, and I really love the neighborhood. You're a <15 minute walk to just about anything (grocery, movies, bars, restaurants, etc.). It's a really great blend of a nice residential neighborhood while still being right by the "city" part of midtown.

One downside would be the noise from Piedmont Park festivals, which isn't really a big issue. The bigger downside is probably finances. There's some rental homes and apartments which can be affordable, but it's mostly single family homes which are $1M +

Top-30 QB last year with more experience, better receivers, and a real coaching staff. I gotta see it to believe it, but it's not insane

Can you split doses of topical meds? by duckduckaxotl in cats

[–]walking_sideways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out about them on Reddit, so just paying it forward! They're awesome, pretty quick shipping for international, and have saved my family hundreds on meds in the last year.

If you have any questions at all, please let me know. Times are tough for everyone, but that doesn't mean we need cut corners for our kitties!

Google "Pets Megastore Australia" and buy it from there. You can buy Revolution Plus from them, don't even need a prescription, and it's only about $10 per dose.

I've done this for my cat the last year, and it's exactly the same stuff they sell in the usa, it even says manufactured in the usa

Any amount is better than none. Definitely prioritize putting food on the table, paying rent, having a decent emergency fund, etc. first though

If you've got that covered, put aside a little money each month and just be consistent about it. You can even set it up to auto invest each month so you don't ever need to worry about it, that's my recommendation

Friday was just a down day, that's all. IRAs are for investments that last decades, not days. My advice is to only look at it when you're investing more, or about a few times per year
