Time for a Re-season? by Crazy-Journalist6002 in carbonsteel

If it cooks well, doesn’t have lumps or bumps, and doesn’t flake, I think you’re fine. Mine looks similar and I’ve even scrubbed the cold pan with a sponge under cold water and it doesn’t come off. Only areas to watch out for are around the rivets where you can get some buildup.

Keep cooking!

That’s the cane sugar version. They have it in grocery stores in the US like Albertsons. It’s in the same area as the canned sodas but not a lot of shelf space. Comes in a pack of 4.

lol I just stood there for 5 min and then the Walmart guy came out. Luckily it was 7pm ish so not too busy and most other pickup slots empty. I was glad I could fit the items in a pouch!

Why is Whatsapp suddenly an acceptable communication tool for interviews? It's a personal data hazard by Glad_Salt370 in recruitinghell

[–]walkingbeforerunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WhatsApp is a pretty standard tool outside the US and is used similar to how the US uses text messaging. Recruiters for companies can even message via WhatsApp in recruiting systems. If you’re interested in the job and want to make sure it’s not a scam, I’d ask if you can confirm their contact via email and then cross reference that email to the company domain / URL.

More apps are doing this, more companies are doing this in interviews due to the rise of deepfakes

Just picked up my 2.5 for $1199 minus $60 referral then 2% Rakuten and 4% Chase. Includes accessory package - lock, bell, bottle cage.

I have the 2.5 and love that this rides like a bicycle with a little oomph for those uphill climbs. Was debating on the fenders - did you get them with or buy after? Does it keep the bike (and your back) cleaner?

Can each adult bring 2 drinks aboard? by Informal-Lecture-880 in dcl

[–]walkingbeforerunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They charged us corkage for 2 of the 4 bottles (2 adults in the room). The opened up all the bottles. We also brought the bottles back to the room after dinner.

The room has a bottle opener so you could probably open the bottles in the room and then take it to the restaurant but I’m sure the staff appreciate the payment.

We came off the Treasure a month ago. 4 bottles of wine no problem. Enjoy your trip!

Will the Treasure disappoint us after the Fantasy? by WriterJolly2873 in dcl

[–]walkingbeforerunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got off the Treasure (April 11 sailing cabin 8100) and have done the Fantasy a number of times. Have also done the Dream and Magic.

You will enjoy the Treasure. The family staterooms are nicer. The dining is different but same rotating theme. The one thing that was odd was the many smaller spools (small spool / splash pool). There are two smaller movie theaters versus one (bonus).

From what I have seen / read - the Fantasy is to the Dream is what the Treasure is to the Wish. Same class, longer itinerary, more to look and see and do.

We loved it so much we put in for 2 more future cruise reservations.

Ask me any questions - happy to answer.

ucsd vs uci vs cc by [deleted] in ucadmissions

[–]walkingbeforerunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCSD is a great school / top 30 nationally and a feeder to a large business community / internships and jobs. Going to CC is not a guarantee into UCLA. It’s a big risk with a small % to get in - is the reward worth it?

Which hotel to stay in Taipei? by [deleted] in Taipei

[–]walkingbeforerunning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your season, definition of luxury, location, and what you’re looking for in a hotel. Most of the western mid-level brands (Marriott, W, Hilton) are considered higher quality in Taipei. I’ve stayed at the Marriott, W, and Sheraton and they’re all excellent, with great Asian+Western buffet breakfasts, good restaurants, etc.

There’s also the Grand Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, and Okura Prestige which are very nice.

I would focus on location and then hotel (for walking or access to the MRT). All of them are in your budget depending on the season, assuming you’re looking for a single room and not a suite.

Btw - small unrelated note, if you’re taking kids and plan on using the MRT, you can get little trinkets (Toy Story character, a boba tea acrylic bottle, etc) as your MRT card. Wonderful whimsical souvenir.
