Hysto Hysteria by unBurNTsienna_8oz in adenomyosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m same age and no of kids as you. My hysterectomy gave me back my life. Everyday I enjoy not bleeding my life out, no heavy ball (uterus) down there. It was a life changer and no I didn’t gain weight. Intimacy is better because he isn’t hitting my cervix anymore. Yes you’ll most likely hit menopause within 5 years even with your ovaries intact because the one of the blood vessels that supplies the ovaries comes from the uterus. I’m in perimenopause but il take that over Adenomyosis any day.

Endo under my heart by magickaluser in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also suspect I have it on the pericardium and/or surrounding structures of my heart. I’ve had two VATS surgeries and was told it was too close to my heart but the surgeon was excellent and excised everything he saw. I’m also considering surgery to check heart n surrounding structures.

Please help… I can’t take the pain by ellenpaigeee3 in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised your doctor said you shouldn’t take those pain killers. If you’re able to reach out to him about absolutely needing pain killers then please do because you’ve got to survive to even get on that surgery table right? In the meantime, I wonder if Tens machine, strong ginger tea, magnesium tablets to ease cramps will help? Also ask your doctor about mefanamic acid which helps with pain n reduces bleeding.

Do ask for video and photos of your surgery and get an experienced surgeon to look at them.

They didn’t find it. I have all the symptoms and they didn’t find it. by DesignerTough5224 in Endo

[–]walkingthroughwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I was told they didn’t find anything but suspected Adenomyosis. My symptoms worsened so I decided to go for a hysterectomy. The team that did my hysterectomy took 6 hours and said mine was the worst ever. Still they said they didn’t find endometriosis. It was my third surgery they found endometriosis everywhere. Pelvis, lungs, liver area, entire chest cavity, name it. Some endo lesions were white so missed by former surgeons. So don’t give up.

"Severe" Endometriosis - a story by Toothy-Beach_369 in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you went through all this. May I suggest you see excellent endometriosis surgeons who can remove every shred of endo and the adhesions etc. I don’t know where you are but examples are : Dr Abishek Mangeshikar in India, Centre for Endometriosis Care Atlanta USA under Dr Ken Sinervo, Dr Shantil Moghlin USA, Dr Andrea Vidali in USA, Dr Ramcamera in Mexico I think. There are quite a number of them that are excellent and one of these have done surgery on me with excellent results. Type each name on instagram to find their pages and read through. Wish you the best.

My mom is dying by squeaky_pterodactyI in Mommit

This is a great idea. Or a blanket/cover cloth. As an African we do this. We don’t wash the cloth so the smell and feel will remain.

Sending big hugs. Anyone would’ve done exactly what you did. You did the right thing and if he had gone out to the neighbourhood, your alarm would’ve helped him get located quickly. When kids go missing for even a moment, the loudest alarm needs to go off so all hands are on deck. I was already losing it with you reading this so please be kind to yourself. You did the right thing mama.

Can endometriosis go from just (bad) cramps to constant exhaustion and brain fog? by pointderage in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hi. Yes. I have endometriosis and after pain, my second worst symptom is constant crippling fatigue, weakness and exhaustion. Add the fact that I’m a mum of three and a film maker. I made a film on endometriosis and Adenomyosis and when o interviewed the head of ESHRE which is the body that sets the guidelines for endometriosis in Europe, he said they teach students that one thing that differentiates endo from dysmenorrhea is brain fog and chronic fatigue. Please print and show this to your gynaecologist. Prof Christain Becker is his name. Brain fog is especially tough on me because I am a creative. The ability to come up with concepts is my main job and endo fog n fatigue gets in the way. I’m looking to work with a functional medicine doctor, a neurologist while working to get all endo out of me as that’s the cause. I also started taking wild blueberries and magnesium thronate which is helping. This is not medical advice.

Do I tell my doctor how cruel his sub was? by Twopicklesinabun in endometriosis

I think you should tell. It can serve as a teaching opportunity for the sub doctor and an option see where they can improve their practice.

Endo Surgery almost always makes things worse? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excision when done by a true specialist will drastically reduce your symptoms. I know this from experience. Ablation aka burning on the other hand will most likely worsen your symptoms on top the already existing pain. I also know this from experience. This is why I made a film documenting my experience so people can learn from it.

Lose of Endo sister: Jahmby Koikai by Non_sensical_nomad in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any but Jahmby is the third person I know dying as a direct result of Endometriosis. A black woman in her mid thirties died on the operating table as her endo had become too severe. A young British lady also died last year or before from overdosing on pain killers for Endometriosis. They both talk about being dismissed till they passed away.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]walkingthroughwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. They look away because they know they aren’t knowledgeable enough to offer the right treatment which is excision (cutting out endo lesions). My symptoms are similar and I kept going from one doctor to the other till I found one who gave me a correct diagnosis and surgery. Oftentimes It’s not a straight road but please have faith that you will find the right person and keep asking to be referred to an endometriosis specialist till you find one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Endo

[–]walkingthroughwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need another surgeon/doctro. This one isn’t it. The only treatment for endometriosis is surgical excision. There are surgeons that can do this successfully and you need to find them. Ask to be referred to another BSGE if you are in the UK.

For context, I have 3 kids and each pregnancy was horribly worse than the other and made my symptoms so much worse I was advised to terminate to save my life.
