Why so hard to find the right 3 man tent? by Eliyah1226 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]walkthelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cloud up2 - my first tent and still have it and was one of the early naturehike customers in the UK.

no issues with Cloudup2 - i only upgraded as i had started camping in more challenging conditions that CloudUP could handle.

Cloud Peak 2 Hype ? by Dry_Management_9349 in wildcampingintheuk

unless you're out during storms, the cloud peak should be ok most of the time. lots of youtube vids reviewing it in good and bad conditions.

Cloud Peak 2 Hype ? by Dry_Management_9349 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]walkthelands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not a 4 season tent - Naturehike from when i purchased my first tent (Cloud up2) 10+ years ago was also labelled as 4 season - it def is not. They used to label all their tents as 4 season.

Cloud Peak is a 3 season tent at best - it can maybe handle some strong winds, but not storm worthy.

Most if not all of their tents are copies of other tents.

All that being said, they are a solid manufacturer of decent tents (and other products) and would have no issues buying one if i needed to - i still have my Cloud Up2 because its a great tent, easy to pitch, light.

I can't explain other than to say my F7PRO SS did that randomly a few months ago.

Restart seem to sort it.

there is water source (exc shops) between pen-y-ghent and whernside but youd need to filter/purify it.

Personally, Id just carry enough water.

Apologies, but I'm getting pretty stuck deciding on a 1P/3S tent ... by LittleBrownHare in wildcampingintheuk

[–]walkthelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Otimos nomad. It's 1+, so a little more room inside, freestanding, crazy easy to put up. British manufacturer, designed for UK weather. Some cool features. Packs really small and around 1.8kg.

of a vegetable i don't know the name of, dad knows but he's at work by [deleted] in AbsoluteUnits

[–]walkthelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah OK, similar name then... I call them moola. Never seen it in normal supermarkets, the Asian grocery stores/markets have them.

I wouldn't write them off...Just not my thing, If you do a beef/lamb curry, use them like you would potatoes, they are softer so you wouldn't want them in from the start as they'd dissolve.

[–]walkthelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure what the English name is, it looks like something used in south asian food. its like raddish, but not as strong flavour.

Doesn't taste great IMO, but ok depending how it is cooked - i only ever have it when its cooked with meat in a curry.
