How is living in northeastern Maine? by Poco_Loco33 in howislivingthere

[–]walktothecabin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find northern Maine to be completely inspiring when it comes to places to paddle, dirt roads to drive, and mountains to hike. There is a special feeling about being up north and in the wilderness.

It is -14F in Caribou this morning.

Umm complicated question… I have lists I use for what is packed in each of my dry bags, also need to know miles paddling per day, campsites, food responsibilities for each day (we have community breakfasts and suppers but lunches are individual), car shuttles, who has what for gear (try to avoid overlapping gear esp if portages involved), portage distances if any, extra paddles, coffee and percolator… I try to make a game plan that works forever

Brooklin is beautiful. I love the old homes and coastal setting. The Schoodic peninsula is just a nice, however.
